Big Brother 15 Episode 3 Discussion and Recap *updated*

I’ll be back later with my recap but feel free to talk about the episode below.

——————————————————————–

Welcome to Tuesday Night. Tonight we will see the season’s first Power of Veto competition and ceremony as well as the naming of the season’s first MVP.

The episode gets started right after the nomination ceremony. McCrae says he nominated Jessie and Candice because they don’t have any major alliances and he wants to get out of his first week as HoH with no blood on his hands.

Candice says she is not going to go into the corner and cry. This of course leads to her crying in the diary room. I gotta give her credit for at least keeping the crying to herself and America. Jessie is in shock that she is nominated instead of Elissa.

Elissa is happy that she hasn’t been nominated and makes the crazy prediction that she will win this season. Has she never heard of a blind side? In the pantry Nick and Jeremy are thrilled with the nominations and that none of the Moving Company was nominated. It’s great that he had so much faith in his alliance that he actually had doubts.

McCrae is doing some damage control with Jessie and Candice, He tells Jessie she is a pawn and tells Candice she was is a competitor. She tells him that she feels he is in an alliance with the other four guys he was hanging with and he tries to deflect the questions but never outright denies it.

We are then treated to the entire house deciding that Elissa will be MVP just because she is Rachel’s sister. Of course they are right because America always makes the obvious decision when it comes to this game.  It just shocks me that Rachel has so many fans.

I was really upset when I first saw that she won it but after seeing how many douchebags are in the house this season I would be ok with Elissa winning it every week. Of course I would also like to see Helen, Candice, and Howard get some love as well.

In theory Elissa could keep the fact that she is the MVP to herself but instead she shares the information with McCrae. She considers him an ally and she wants McCrae’s input on who to vote out.

Since the Moving Company wants David out he tosses out David’s name. He is really pushing for David to while Elissa considers Nick the stronger player. She asks to be kept save but he says that he will have to nominate her if that is what the house wants. His lack of commitment makes her reconsider all his options.

It’s amazing me how much McCrae is doing everything in his power not to lie to anyone. He has kept some information to himself but nothing he has said to anyone is an outright lie. Not sure how long he can keep this up without really hurting his game.

We are treated to what may be the stupidest conversation in Big Brother history as Aaryn and David continue their showmance. I would recap this conversation but I may have lost two many brain cells while listening to it.

Before the Power of Veto competition can be done we need players.  We get a little photo montage of all the players in the house before it is revealed that the MVP nominated David for elimination. Elissa says she choose David so she can show McCrae that she is trust worthy and hopefully will not be back doored.

Since PoV competitors already include the three nominees and the HoH McCrae gets to choose the last two competitors. He picks Elissa and Howard out of the bin.

Candice says she has to bring her Candy Land A Game if she wants to win the Veto. I hope this Candy Land thing doesn’t last.

David says he is so confused which is not really surprising since I think a lot confuses him. He snaps at Aaryn since he doesn’t know who he can trust which makes her cry. I beg America to not feel sorry for her when David is voted out. She is a horrible person and does not deserve any sympathy regardless of how the producers try to edit her. On the bright side it makes David look foolish and stupid.

Jeremy asks Elissa if she is the MVP and she denies it. He asks her about saying her sister’s fans will vote for her which she also denies rather than playing it off as a joke earlier.  At this point she should just own the fact that Rachel is her sister and state that she was just afraid of how people would accept her.

Up in the HoH room Amanda is telling McCrae he should throw the competition. She wants to trust him but is unsure. McCrae is trying to work a side alliance with her so lets her know that Elissa admitted to being the MVP and tells her to promise that she won’t tell anyone since it would tie back to him. She agrees but we all know how far promises go in that house.

Elissa comes up to the room and McCrae continues to be the worst liar in Big Brother history when he instantly admits that he told Amanda. This man is not good under pressure. Since Elissa is in the room alone with McCrae Amanda rounds the troops and storms the room. She knows what everyone else knows  that McCrae cannot handle the heat.

Jeremy confronts Elissa again about saying her model sister got her votes and this time she says it was all a joke since her sister is not a model or Gisele Bundchen. It also amazes me that Jeremy did not know who Gisele is. He looks like a guy who would keep up with hot models.

Jeremy says if he was MVP he would tell everyone and he wouldn’t have nominated David. Both are lies proving he is already better at this game then McCrae. He basically tries to bully her into leaving the room.  He tells his third lie when he says he wasn’t picking on her.

We get some cross promotion when the PoV competition. The special host is the judge from the American Baking Competition on CBS.

It’s a spelling competition. Competitors will jump through honey and batter to connect letters. The house guest with the longest word wins. I have $5 on David spelling his word incorrectly.

David wants to win the veto so he can spend another week with Aaryn. McCrae wants to look like he is working hard but wants to lose so that he doesn’t have to take someone off and blindside Elissa himself. He says his work was a solid C so he thinks it is an easy lose.

David has the brain storm to look up at the sign to pick the longest work which happens to be competition. He then has a really hard time explaining it is a long eleven letter word. It decides it is an eleven word and moves on. Of course he has trouble with this since he can’t find a M and P since the sign tells him that is how it is spelt. He ends up not finding the letter as the time runs out.

For the results Howard drops “sailing” for 7 letters. He didn’t want to do bad but also doesn’t want to be a power house in competitions yet so he’s sailing right through this one.

Jessie uses “tumbled” for 7 letters. Howard locked in first so he keeps the lead. Candice bombs with “rafts” for only five letters. David fails miserably as he becomes the first player ever to never spell a word in a spelling competition.

Elissa jumps out with “potroasts” which is long but is actually two words so she is out. This causes some celebration on the side lines between Jeremy and Kaitlin. McCrae spells “delivery” and even though he didn’t want to win he somehow pulls it out.

McCrae says he may need to nominate Elissa to keep the house happy but it sucks he may need to send a friend home. Elissa doesn’t know how she will save herself.

Helen finally gets some screen time when she tries to keep Elissa calm about the idea that she may be nominated. Glad to see that she actually exists in this huge house of horrible personalities.  Elissa takes McCrae aside and tries to talk him out of nominating her. He is conflicted but knows that at this point he can’t go against the wishes of the entire house.

Nick tries to convince McCrae to not use it so that David will go home. He says it makes sense Moving Company benefits more by David going home since he is the strongest player and Nick is smart enough to know that America may keep giving Elissa the MVP so she could be a good player to work with. It’s a tough sell since McCrae doesn’t have full faith in the alliance and doesn’t want to upset the majority of the house.

Personally I think any person who goes on Big Brother to meet girls needs to go home but McCrae is a scared player so he pulls Candice off the block and nominates Elissa to keep the house happy.

Cory will be recapping tomorrow’s elimination episode and also look for his post for the Power Rankings on Friday.
