Adam Lambert parted ways with Sony in 2013, which means its time for the label to squeeze out the remaining money to be made on the American Idol 8 alum.

While Adam is busy working on a new album with producer, Max Martin, in Sweden, Sony Legacy has put together a set of greatest hits titled The Very Best of Adam Lambert due out on May 27.

The tracklist is a hodgepodge of American Idol studio tracks, songs from his two RCA studio albums, “Time For Miracles” a track for the movie 2012, and even his Gaga cover “Marry the Night” from his Glee appearance in “A Katy or a Gaga”!

From the album liner notes:

“If some of these tracks feel like musical mission statements, it’s in their skillful fusion of mainstream pop and rock with left-of-center, if not underground, musician and pop-cultural markers, and their clear conviction towards that mission. And if that’s not the hallmark of an artist who’s unfailingly true to himself… well, you are invited to listen to some more until you get it.”

Says the label that wanted an album of 80’s covers instead of original music for Adam’s 3rd record…

Adam and RCA (Sony is the parent company) parted ways in 2013, after the singer recorded two albums, For Your Entertainment, in 2009 and Trespassing in 2012.

This summer, Adam will embark on a North American tour, fronting for the legendary band Queen! He’s so busy, he’ll barely have time to give this cash grab album a second thought!
