AXS TV Secures Rights to First 3 Seasons of Nashville

NASHVILLE - ABC's "Nashville" stars Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad, Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Charles Esten as Deacon Claybourne and Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes. It’s a good thing Nashville was renewed by Disney/ABC, despite less than stellar ratings. The network has brokered a syndication deal with AXS TV to air the first three seasons of the musical drama.

AXS is carried by many cable systems, but it’s one of those way-up-the-dial (to use analog-speak) stations. You might have it, and not know it. AXS is also the US home for X Factor UK, both last year, and the season coming up beginning in August. AXS specializes in live concerts and music specials. Nashville, with it’s Music City soundtrack, and guest appearances from music stars, should be a pretty good fit.

AXS TV SECURES OFF-NETWORK CABLE RIGHTS TO THE CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ABC MUSIC DRAMA ‘NASHVILLE’

SERIES WILL PREMIERE ON NETWORK THIS FALL

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 24, 2015 – Bolstering its primetime programming portfolio, AXS TV has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with the Disney-ABC Television Group for off-network cable rights to the first three seasons of the critically-acclaimed primetime ABC drama, NASHVILLE. The deal gives AXS TV the exclusive primetime cable premiere of the hit series, which will launch on the network in the fall. Produced by Lionsgate Television, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment, NASHVILLE is executive produced by Dee Johnson, Callie Khouri and Steve Buchanan.

Set in the heart of Music City, NASHVILLE follows the lives of a group of recording artists dealing with the highs and lows of making it in the cutthroat music industry. Connie Britton stars as the successful Country Queen Rayna Jaymes, an icon at the peak of her powers, facing a future generation of stars lighting up the charts, especially the talented and troubled Juliette Barnes, played by Hayden Panettiere. In addition to its dramatic storylines and memorable performances, NASHVILLE has attracted a wide array of guest appearances from some of the biggest names in entertainment, including: Christina Aguilera, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Wyclef Jean, Robin Roberts, Katie Couric, and Conan O’Brien, just to name a few.

Nashville premieres on AXS this fall.
