CMA Music Festival Begins in Nashville This Week!

American Idol 10 winner and runner-up, and teen country singers, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina are set to make their Nashville debuts at CMA Fest this week. The duo will present at the CMT awards on Wednesday, perform at the Opry on Friday and play the annual City of Hope Softball challenge on Saturday.

Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Bo Bice, Kellie Pickler, Casey James, Bucky Covington, Crystal Bowersox, Danny Gokey are all set to appear at the CMA Fest this week.

Platinum Hit – Dance Party! – Week 2

This show isn’t getting great ratings, but I find it kind of entertaining–especially the parts where the songwriters have to explain themselves and they proceed to throw each other under the bus. The show is designed to pit the contestants against each other at every turn for maximum conflict. I suppose the producers think that watching would-be songwriters work at their craft would be a tad boring. They may be right.

Simon Cowell Speaks Out on the Cheryl Cole Debacle

Unless the Mirror is making up these quotes (and hey, they could be, ’cause that’s what British tabs do) Simon Cowell is finally speaking out on the Cheryl Cole debacle. Although Simon thought Cheryl would be happy to move back to the UK show, he reportedly chickened out of telling her in person. He sent X Factor’s executive producer Richard Holloway to deliver the bad news instead.

Jennifer Hudson Signs a Book Deal

E! News reports that Jennifer Hudson has signed a deal to publish a memoir about her dramatic weight loss.

The as-yet untitled book is expected to be released by Dutton next January.The memoir will detail Hudson’s “experience growing up in an environment where healthy living was not a priority, ” as well as talk of her weight while competing on American Idol, according to statement from Dutton.

Aw. Kris Allen attended the retirement party for his Kindergarten teacher. The Season 8 winner made a special trip to Tolleson Elementary school to speak at the school principal’s retirement party. He recalled what a wonderful teacher Ms. Diane Ashenberger was and how he and his brother Daniel, adored her. See the photo HERE.
