I set out last Saturday afternoon (rushing out of my house, late as usual) to catch a matinee of Glee 3D the Concert Movie at my local cineplex. I needn’t have worried about running late. There was no ticket line, and when I entered the theater just short of start time, there were only a handful of people in the auditorium style theater. Whoa. A hit movie Glee 3d is not.
Crystal Bowersox performed a brand new song called “Barbed Wire Halo” on stage in Malone New York last Saturday.
The Season 9 American Idol runner up performs the bluesy new song beautifully, despite having to switch guitars (and having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction!) midway through the tune.

“There was a time when Casey [Abrams] played ‘Nature Boy’ for Jimmy [Iovine] and literally, the mentor and the producer who was producing the track laughed in his face and said, ‘Are we being punked? Are you kidding me?’ They made Casey cry, ” recalls Durbin, who was standing outside the room at the time. “It was so rude and disrespectful.”
Ok. I’ll admit it. This new song, “What Makes You Beautiful” from Simon Cowell’s X Factor UK protege boy band, One Direction, is hella catchy in that Hot Chelle Rae sort of way. I wouldn’t punch this tune off if it came on my car radio.
