Season 8 American Idol contestant, Arianna Afsar competed as Miss California in tonight’s Miss America pageant and made it all the way to the Top 10.
She competed in the swimsuit, evening gown and talent portions of the competition, before she was cut at the Top 5. Arianna missed her opportunity to answer lame questions on TV. Dang.
(Miss America is so quaint and old fashioned…what does parading around in swimsuits and evening gowns have to do with winning a college scholarship? But I digress…)
Anyway, Arianna performed “I Who Have Nothing”, a song Jordin Sparks sang on her season, as fellow S6 contestant, Melinda Doolittle, helpfully pointed out on twitter!
Teresa Scanlan, 17, of Nebraska was eventually crowned Miss America.
