  1. You know, every time I am in the car with my teenage girls they have to play My Name by Anoop. I LOVE THAT SONG! I think it could really, really be a huge hit. It has so many catch phrases in it and is a total ear worm:

Girl you’re poppin like a toaster
Girl you’re droppin like an album
So bad you need a time out
Like DC ( Destiny’s Child) say, why don’t you call my name

And then at the end when they keep saying “AnooOOOP”, lolol. Love it.

  2. My 4 yr old is my music buddy and he loves “My Name,” we go bopping down the road in the ol’ minivan singing it :)

I like the new song (“Goodbye”) – Anoop has a smooth, sexy voice that sounds great on slow jams!

  3. I really like My Name.I already perordered. Can’t wait to here all the songs. Goodbye sounds pretty good.Am trying to support all the idols, even if they weren’t my favorites.Only two idols I couldn’t get into from last season were Scott and Lil.I hope Anoop does very well.

  4. I use my 12-year-old as my own personal “test market” for pop tunes(he was an Allison and Adam fan last season), and I knew Kris Allen’s LLWD was going to be a hit after my kid listened to it 50 times the week it was released. DS never had a strong opinion one way or the other about Anoop on the show, but the kid’s listened to “My Name” 35 times since I put it on his iPod last week!

I actually think Anoop’s recording voice is the most “current” sounding of all of last season’s artists. Not necessarily my personal favorite (although I’ve always liked Anoop a lot), but I think he has the most commercially-relevant sound of any of them. Too bad those a**hole Idol producers didn’t invite him back this season. If the song does take off, watch them backtrack and act like they loved Anoop all along.

  5. I am liking this new song, Goodbye, and looking forward to hearing an actual recording of it.
I think My Name is a fun song but ballads like this one is when his vocals really shine. His mid-range voice is so much more appealing than when he sings in his upper register, which is what he usually does on uptempo songs. Smooth as butta is the way I like Anoop best.

  6. LOL at 3 out of 5 comments before me are talking about their kids. Anoop is kid friendly!

I listened to the cell cast real time. All the other songs sounded pretty good, too. The second halves of both My Name and Crazy Love had some wicked instrumental actions as well. I can’t wait to see the whole band play together myself. Fingers crossed for some stops near New Orleans.

A partial video of “Crazy Love” is posted here:
