America’s Got Talent ratings dipped 2/10ths of a point in the key 18-49 demo compared to last Monday’s outing. Nevertheless, the NBC competition show won the night for the network. The show also garnered the largest audience of the night with 5.51 million viewers.

Just for comparison’s sake, “Quarternals 2” last season, which aired on August 20, 2019 earned a 1.6 in the demo and 9.42 million viewers. That’s a nearly a 1 point drop from last season, and roughly 4 million fewer viewers overall.

It might be tempting to blame the ratings dive on Simon Cowell’s absence. But the ratings have been falling steadily since the end of June, right before AGT took a 4th of July break. A 0.7 in the demo probably is a series low rating for a fresh episode.
