America’s Got Talent: Mel B’s Father Dies, Shows Cancelled – Marlon Wayans Host?

America’s Got Talent cancelled filming this week after the death of judge Mel B’s father.

Martin Brown died Saturday after a 5-year battle with Myeloma. He was 63. Mel B said she and her sister were by their dad’s side when he passed.

“It is with great sadness after a 5yr battle to multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday,” wrote Mel on Instagram. “Both of us…children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma’s and all the doctors and nurses for [their] amazing care and support over the years. Please respect our privacy and let us as a united family grieve. With love and respect. Melanie and Danielle Brown x Be Free Dad.”

Additionally, Simon Cowell is still looking for a host to replace the departing Nick Cannon. The host quit after NBC nearly fired him for jokes made at NBC’s expense during his standup act.

According to TMZ, In Living Color comedian Marlon Wayans is in the running.

Simon Cowell has whittled down his pick for a new host on “America’s Got Talent” to just 3 guys — one of whom is Marlon Wayans … TMZ has learned.

Production sources tell us ‘AGT’ brass is zeroing on Wayans and 2 other comedians to replace Nick Cannon. The other guys are Tone Bell and Brandon Mychal Smith.

Wayans is obviously the big name here … but we’re told the 2 others have just as much of a chance to land the new gig considering their acting and comedy chops.
