NBC is airing an edition of the America’s Got Talent auditions tonight, in order to counter-program again the premiere of Rising Star.
Our regular recapper, Eric A, isn’t available tonight. This post is for discussion during the show. After, I’ll post videos here and Eric will add his thoughts later.
Wow. I learned a LONG time ago that you never call a woman pregnant if she isn’t. Apparently that wasn’t obvious to these two.
Mike Super was very strange. The trick wasn’t that exciting to be honest, it was more of the crazy-person setup that put him through I think.
Valo & Boddy
Valo & Boddy were neat, but I wouldn’t see them in Vegas. I don’t think that the act could get more interesting, if that makes any sense.
Mara Justine (11)
Mara Justine was good. It’s hard to hate on an 11 year old, and she seems likable. The issue is that after X Factor we have seen some really awesome kid singers, most of which were better than her.
He was good. Very camp, but I know I would have fallen on my ass within the first 5 seconds.
Nina Burri belongs in the Ripley museum. That was insane. Not my type of act but she was good at what she did.
Emil and Dariel
I liked them a lot, and while I’ve seen similar acts before, never have the musicians been this young.
One Voice Children’s Choir
One Voice Children’s Choir were ok, not great. I think one of the leads was slightly off-key. Good luck to them, but they aren’t my type of act really.
Grennan the Green Monster
They were cute, but the dancing wasn’t particularly impressive. Having said that, they were cute and they got Howie to take off his shirt and make a fool of himself. So I liked them.
Frank, the Singer
Frank The Singer was talented and likable. I have a soft spot for older people living their dreams. Would I see him live? No, but I’m not really into jazz.
