The third group of 12 semi-finalists performed on last night’s America’s Got Talent. A hip-hop dance troupe called Studio One closed out the night, and I have to say they were pretty good!
The singers on this show, however are terrible and I cannot believe Piers gave tentative female songbird, Debra Romer a standing ovation. It’s mean, actually, because her whispery-weak vocals wouldn’t gain her props anywhere else. She’s got a good backstory (runaway foster-care kid) and that’s about it.
Another singer, Luigi, this week’s strummy dude singer, was equally weak, but at least the judges called him out on it.
Chips Cooney, this week’s joke act, is a purposely-bad magic act. I’m pretty sure dude’s in on the joke, so that’s a plus. Predictably, Howie loved the act, while Piers loathed it. The best novelty act of the night, Hanspop left his children in France to perform a strangely compelling popping routine on AGT.
So, did you watch? What did you think?
More AGT Videos: The South Philly Vikings, CJ Dippa (this week’s cute kid act), Harmonica Pierre, Polina Volchek (Very bendy!), The Strange Familiar (bad 80’s covers), Jeremy VanSchoonhaven, Kanya and Sadie (Belly Dancers)
