America’s Got Talent 2025 Top 44 Live Shows Guide: How will it work? Who is competing?
America’s Got Talent season 20 Live Shows begin on Tuesday August 19. For the first time, fans can vote for their favorite acts. Also the AGT LIVE results shows begin! Howie Mandel, Mel B., Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell sit on the judges panel. Terry Crews serves as host.
America’s Got Talent 2025 Golden Buzzer Twist
Six weeks remain of the current AGT season. The remaining episodes include FOUR weeks of Quarterfinals featuring the Top 44 contestants divided into 11 acts per week. Performance shows air on Tuesdays. America votes during the show and overnight. America will choose three acts each of the four weeks, revealed on Wednesday live Results shows, who will move on to the Semi-final round.
HOWEVER, on performance night, a judge will choose a GOLDEN BUZZER, exempt from voting. That lucky recipient will SKIP the Semifinals and move STRAIGHT to the FINALE.
The 12 acts America chose in the Quarterfinals will compete in the one night Semifinal. Then, during the results show, SIX acts will move on to the final according to America’s vote. However, the judges will each choose ONE Golden Buzzer act that will compete for a viewer instant vote. The winner also moves on to the Finals.
The top 6 vote getters, a Golden Buzzer wildcard, and the 4 Quarterfinalist Golden Buzzer winners then become the 11 Finalists competing in the Grand Finale.
