America’s Got Talent 2025 Auditions 7 Recap Live Blog (Videos)

America’s Got Talent continues with Auditions 7 tonight (July 15) as Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and the returning Mel B. take their seats on the panel for the talent show’s 20th season. Terry Crews once again serves as host

The Golden Buzzers are back, of course. All the panelists and Terry can award two buzzers each to acts they feel should advance straight to the live shows. That is 10 buzzers total.

GRV – Dance group

From Anaheim, California, the performers all have day jobs. One dancer reveals he quit his job to pursue performance.

The theme is workplace drudgery. They dance using desks as props. The dancing is OK. There have been tricksier groups on AGT. And indeed, Howie is NOT impressed and buzzes them. Oops.

However, the rest of the judges are on their feet. Howie thinks they are good dancers, but need to be better. Mel calls Howie out of his mind. She calls the routine “original.” Sofia sees the potential and calls them “spectacular.” Simon felt their energy and dedication. He likes that they are “regular people with regular jobs. He says yes. Howie buzzing the group is a tad over the top. Howie says no, the rest say yes

Jessica Sanchez – Singer – Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer

YES. It’s the Jessica Sanchez from American Idol season 11. She also competed on AGT season 1 at 10 years old. NBC dropped this audition earlier today. Check it out HERE. The video piece on Jessica is hilarious. Simon wants to know what happened to the singer in the last 20 years, and she leaves out the reason why we know who she is! She was pretty busy for the first few years after she finished second on Idol.

Big news: Jessica reveals that she and her husband are expecting a baby. She shares that at 29 years old, she knows who she is as an artist. She covers Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things.” She’s as great a singer as ever, displaying her trademark growl and high notes. After her performance, Sofia awards Jessica her Golden Buzzer, so she could actually win the show. If Jessica won, it would be a full circle moment for her and AGT.

Andy Star – Drag Queen

Andy introduces himself before walking off stage and returning as his drag persona. His singing is really terrible as he caterwauls a version of “Hero. Simon thought he was dressed as shrek.

Jonathan Arons

He plays a trombone while doing special “dance moves.” Simon compares the performance to a dare. The judges are waiting for something good.

Anna Wilson – Singer

SURPRISE. Mom is on stage nominating her daughter Anna to audition on stage. I don’t know if this is a setup, but Anna sitting in the audience is crying. Has the 21 year old even prepared anything? Simon decides Anna needs a few minutes to prepare. Anna says she feels “betrayed.” She’s joking, but really. Her mother had suggested two songs to producers, and they have the backing tracks.

After the below ballet act, Anna returns to the stage. She shifts from foot to foot as she reveals she’s singing “To Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. She dedicates it to her mother. She does that tap tap tap thing on the mic that amatures often do. Simon stops her. “That song is a bit boring.” The crowd boos. She sings her second choice. “My Church.” by Maren Morris. It is less boring, and opens up the country lane for her. She’s a decent singer.

Sofia says, “Simon is always right. You definitely have potential.” Mel commends her for handling a tricky situation. She thinks she needs a few more years. Howie thinks it’s a great audition. Mel says no. She’s got a point. Sofia and Simon says yes. “I really really like you,” he says. – 1 no 3 yeses

Xi’An Acrobatic Troupe – Acrobatic Ballet

Simon calls ballet boring. Two dancers begin performing to “Swan Lake.” But then the act turns into an acrobatic act. She’s on point on top of her partner’s shoulder and then his head, which is impressive. Her moves are so impossible, the two are joined by a spotter who makes sure she does not fall.

Howie thanks them for traveling all the way from China to perform for AGT. “He has great legs,” Mel jokes. Simon calls ballet boring, but this particular act “made ballet interesting.” – 4 yeses

Elastic – Joke act

He pretends to pull himself across the stage by his arm and spring back…or something? I have no idea what happened there.

Sirca Marea – Aerial act

The two acrobats are a married couple. Backstage in their interview the gal said her husband was a good lover. OK then. They do the suspended in mid-air thing on a flat metal surface hoisted into the air. She hangs precariously off his arms. THey LOSE CONTACT as she somersaults. Very dangerous.

The closing tricks involve big swings, loss of contact including double somersaults. The judges are on their feet by the end.

Sofia wishes she had a Golden Buzzer. Hope Jessica isn’t in earshot. Mel B was holding her breath. Howie notes that every move was scary and dangerous. Simon finds the act complicated. He believes they are one of the best aerial acts he’s seen. – 4 yeses

Crash Adams – Singing duo

The duo are from Toronto. Their parents are best friends and they’ve known each other their whole lives. They have a massive social media following. 20 million followers across platforms. Now, they are ready to take the next step.

The song they perform is an original called “Optimist.” The song is poppy and infectious. The song is pretty good, but the two as personalities seem kind of annoying? Sunglasses guy is a solid lead guitarist. (In his video package, he says he couldn’t be himself without the sunglasses.)

Howie calls the song a hit. “People are going to remember this song.” Sofia call the song “super catchy.” Simon liked the song a lot. – 4 yeses.

Sandra Risser – Comedian

Sandra is 83 years old, retired and ready to follow her dream of being a comedian. Her jokes are of the naughty old lady variety. She uses “shopping” as euphemism for sex. The audience is confused at first. But once they catch on, they cheer her on. Hubby is backstage laughing along.

“You are a genius,” says Sofia. Howie calls her “amazing.” He thinks she could win the show. Mel B says, “I love you.” Simon didn’t quite understand the whole shopping thing. “Every great comedian needs a happy ending.” Har har. – 4 yeses

The Boykinz – Singing group – Terry Crews Golden Buzzer

The four singers are sisters. They sport matching tooth gaps. They are big fans of Mel’s group, The Spice Girls. Boykin is their last name, They added a Z for Gen Z. They perform “country infused” music crossed with pop and R&B. And they dance.

They sing harmonies as they work the stage performing an original song, “Fell in Love with a Cowboy.” It’s hokey, like an opening act in a Las Vegas lounge. None of the voices stand out as an impressive lead. Terry compares them to The Supremes. They end with a big, corny pointy pose.

Howie liked them a lot. Sofia loved everything about them and thinks America will love them too. Simon declares they will be stars. He calls it a perfect audition. Mel B says, “You blew this out of the water.”

The audience chants “Golden Buzzer” over and over again. Mel begs Howie to hit his button. But then Terry makes his way through the audience and saves the day. For the first time, Terry gets TWO buttons this season. “I was going to do it,” Howie insists. But you hesitated dude. Having said that, the group is decent, but not Golden Buzzer worthy. Oh well.

NEXT WEEK is a CLIP SHOW featuring THE GREATEST GOLDEN BUZZERS. Auditions 8 airs the following week on July 29.
