America’s Got Talent season 19 will return next summer with judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews. Auditions for the next season are currently underway. During Tuesday’s finale, Sofia Vergara confirmed her return and explained why she wasn’t participating in the America’s Got Talent spinoff AGT: Fantasy League with Simon, Howie, Heidi and Terry. “I have other things to do!” she declares. Sofia also did not participate in AGT: All Stars earlier this year. Sofia promised that her replacement, former AGT judge Mel B., will be the perfect replacement. However, she assured everybody that she’ll be back for the summer edition.

Later in the broadcast, Terry reminded fans that Howie would be starting his fifteenth season as a judge on America’s Got Talent when the show returns for season 19. He is the longest serving judge on the current panel, joining for season 5 in 2010. He took the place of former judge David Hasselhoff.
America’s Got Talent is on pace to be the most-watched summer broadcast alternative series for 18 consecutive years.
