America’s Got Talent 2019 Semifinals began Tuesday night. Eleven acts performed for the judges, Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough and Simon Cowell. Only FIVE acts will advance to the finals after America’s vote. The results will be revealed on Wednesday’s (Sept 4) results show at 8 PM on NBC.

The semifinals is where things get really serious. More than half of the acts will be eliminated tonight. So Simon Cowell judged the contestants after their performances as if he were culling the herd. Harsh critiques were dealt to previously favorite acts Greg Morton, Eric Chien, Jackie Fabulous and Ansley Burns.
Adding a guest judge at this juncture seems pointless, although Sean Hayes is amusing enough, I suppose.
As far as the acts that will advance, here are my predictions: Kodi Lee, Benicio Bryant, Light Balance Kids, Tyler Butler-Figueroa and…here is where I am not entirely certain…Ndlovu Youth Choir. However, Eric Chien has shown staying power in the face of harsh criticism, while Ndlovu had to be saved last time out. Eric could be a spoiler!
