“Death of Me,” the brand new single from American Idol season 7 winner David Cook is here.  The hypnotic new tune is  available on all download and streaming platforms. David wrote the tune within 72 hrs of getting back from New York City last month, after concluding a second stint playing Charlie Price in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots.

“It’s the first new song I’ve written since my run on Broadway in Kinky Boots and I’m really excited about it,” David told the CTPost. “It’s just another step forward in the evolution of my sound.” He added, “I made a conscious effort to try some different things with Chromance. I think it’s just another extension of that. So to try to rework that song now kind of on the fly for this acoustic run is going to be fun.”

David kicked off an acoustic tour in his hometown, St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday (Oct 25). Check out the full schedule HERE.

David’s raspy, rock vocals lead the way as spare guitars play above a relentless, almost menacing drum track. The song builds dramatically as synths mix in. This is love gone wrong, y’all. And there. is. no. escape. Except death. Really–it’s a perfect song to release a week before Halloween.
