American Idol’s Alejandro Aranda Announces a Summer Tour

American Idol 2019 runner-up Alejandro Aranda is missing out on the traditional post-finale media blitz of New York City due to a fear of flying. However, the California native plans to make his way to the East Coast somehow this summer. Alejandro wasted no time announcing a summer tour. The musician’s tour kicks off in Washington DC on July 8 and makes its way across the country, ending in his hometown of Pomona, California on July 17.

Although Alejandro reportedly had to be talked out of quitting the show, in the end, he is grateful for an experience that allowed him to share his original music with the world. He dropped a message to his fans in Instagram, “It’s all love<3 I did this show to prove to myself that’s it’s okay to be YOU. Music is apart of us and creativity is within us. Thank you @americanidol for allowing me to play my music. But also thank you to every single person I met on the way. love you to the world and back.”

Among the thousands of comments Alejandro’s Instagram tour announcement received was a special note from American Idol judge Katy Perry, “Let me be a roadie please!” she quipped. Can you imagine that? She could be in charge of the wardrobe. Or not! Check out Alejandro’s tour announcement below. Note that the tour begins around the time the American Idol Live tour would have kicked off if that were happening this summer. It obviously is not, and I’m betting Alejandro is relieved.
