Newly eliminated American Idol 15 contestant, Tristan McIntosh, was in for the thrill of her life when country star Darius Rucker invited the singer onstage Tuesday night (3/22) to perform his hit “Wagon Wheel” at the esteemed Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
After the performance, Tristan was in for an even bigger surprise when Darius asked her, on behalf of the Opry, to come back and make her solo debut. What an exciting moment for the 15 year old singer.

The sixth place finisher hinted in a post-Idol satellite interview with reporters that there MIGHT be something Nashville related in the works. The singer is determined to make country music her career. ” I feel like I always considered everything as an artist,” Tristan said of the possibility of recording outside the country music genre. “People would always ping me to do pop music. But in the end, I always wanted to do country–it always came back to country.”
