Dancing with the Stars’ Alan Bersten Reveals He Needed Surgery After Finding a Tumor in His Neck – Though he says he felt “fine,” Bersten’s mother pushed him to go back to the doctor to get another blood test. A week later, he got the results and found that it was not supplements causing this but rather a tumor on one of his parathyroid glands. “They did a quick scan of everything and couldn’t tell if [the tumor] was benign or malignant until they opened me up,” he says. “Unfortunately the only surgery available was on April 11 so my mom quickly was like, ‘You don’t understand, he has to be on Dancing with the Stars. Is there anything we can do?’”
After speaking with the scheduling office and explaining that he had to be on Good Morning America on April 13 for the cast reveal of DWTS‘ upcoming all-athletes season, they were able to squeeze Bersten in for surgery the next day. – Read more at People
Jennifer Hudson and ex square off in Chicago court as child support battle continues – In his two-hour testimony at the Daley Center, David Otunga described the various positions he’s held since leaving his $165,000-a-year job at the Chicago law firm Sidley Austin more than a decade ago. He said he’s employed as a pre-show panelist with the WWE organization, but Hudson attorney Thomas Field argued Otunga only works a few days a month and should be compelled to seek employment and maintain a job diary. Wednesday’s hearing continued the five-month legal battle over child support for the former couple’s 8-year-old son. Hudson, a 36-year-old Oscar winner from the South Side, and Otunga, a 38-year-old Elgin native, split last year after nearly a decade together.
