-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a Tuesday of split leadership, with drama populated CBS the most-watched network and the home of American Idol, Fox, No. 1 among adults 18-49. Had Idol not been pared down to one hour (with a repeat of Glee airing at 9 p.m.), Fox would have also won the evening in total viewers.

American Idol was, of course, the most-watched show of the evening, with 22.61 million viewers and an 8.2 rating/23 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. The aforementioned encore of Glee followed with a fourth-place finish in both total viewers (7.83 million) and adults 18-49 (3.0/ 8 ) at 9 p.m. CBS got plenty of mileage, meanwhile, from its stellar combination of NCIS (Viewers: #2, 19.50 million; A18-49: #2, 3.8/11), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (Viewers: #1, 16.93 million; A18-49: #2, 3.5/ 9) and The Good Wife (Viewers: #1, 13.91 million; A18-49: #1, 2.8/ 8). Only 3.11 million viewers, in fact, separated American Idol and NCIS

  1. It’s interesting – how many viewers that had last season with similar shows?
And it’s obvious that show is losing the power, even with Simon still on the panel. And it was ongoing process, even last season, with Paula still on the panel and brilliant contestants on the scene, ratings were getting lower. Maybe America is just tired of this show?
Or they need absolute reinvention? In this situation Simon leaving the show can be the end of the show, but also can be a start of new life.

  2. I agree.. can’t believe that I’m actually looking forward to the X factor. LOL Sad.
