American Idol Ratings: Idol Wins the Night But CBS is No Slouch

Via Mediaweek

-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by American Idol, Fox dominated this final Tuesday in April, but CBS was certainly no slouch and ABC was alive and well at 8 p.m. courtesy of the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show.

American Idol was the most-watched show and highest rated among adults 18-49 of the evening, once again, with 18.81 million viewers and a 6.6 rating/19 share in the demo from 8-9 p.m. With only six contestants left and six decent performances last night, the person to depart tonight will not be easy to predict. That said, my picks for the bottom three are Aaron Kelly, Siobhan Magnus and Michael Lynch, with Michael’s time the most likely to be up.

American Idol led into Glee, which was second in total viewers (12.58 million) behind CBS’ competing NCIS: Los Angeles, but first among adults 18-49, with a 5.3/14 in the demo. Retention out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of American Idol among adults 18-49 (7.1/19) was a respectable 75 percent.

Monday”s Dancing had more viewers again this week. Roughly: 20.18 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/12 share among adults 18-49.  Idol once again wins the 18-49 demo.

Last night’s Dancing results show at the 8 o’clock hour: 12.15 million viewers (#3) and a 2.3/ 7 among adults 18-49
