Last night, the American Idol premiere on ABC garnered a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 key demo. That’s down from last season’s 2.3 opening number. However, 1.7 is on par with last season’s average. (1.7) and better than the season finale (1.6).
In it’s new time slot, World of Dance–without an America’s Got Talent or The Voice lead in–matched a season low 1.0 rating in the demo.
For a comparison, last week, The Voice season 16 bowed with a 2.1 rating in the demo.
