American Idol Live 2013 Ticket Resales Down 347 Percent from 2012

Ticket resales for American Idol Live! 2013 tour are down 347 percent, reports The Hollywood Reporter. This,  according to data compiled by StubHub, the Ebay-owned online marketplace for secondary sellers.

The tour, originally set to kick off on June 29, has been pushed back to July 19, with 10 of its dates cancelled.

Other statistics THR culled from Stubhub:

  • Idol tour resales — individual and fan-to-fan transactions — peaked in 2011
  • The following year, sales decreased nearly 10 percent
  • Chris Daughtry is Idol’s most successful male touring artist. He outsells Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken at a ratio of 13 to one.
  • For the girls, Carrie Underwood moves nearly double the amount of tickets as Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Phillip Phillips, Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson, and Daughtry combined.

An “Idol Insider” told THR not to be surprised if some of the larger venues are reconfigured to make the space seem fuller

ETA:  I have no idea how Michelle arrived at the 347% figure.  Since I don’t do math, I thought there might be an explanation that I didn’t understand. Maybe I’ll ask her on twitter.
