American Idol Finale Ratings Lead Monday for ABC

The American Idol finale led ABC to its first Monday ratings victory. Idol aired against The Voice performance finale in the 9 pm hour.

Splitting hairs: According to Showbuzz Daily Idol and The Voice tied in the 9-9:30 half hour. From 9:30 to 10 PM The Voice dipped to a 1.4 while Idol maintained a 1.5. The Voice averaged a 1.5 over the night in the 18-49 key demo, American Idol a 1.6. Dancing with the Stars stayed steady at 1.0.

The season finale of “American Idol” led ABC to a ratings win Monday, edging the final performances on “The Voice.”

“Idol” scored a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 to “The Voice’s” 1.5 (the two shows were tied in the 9 o’clock hour when they aired head-to-head). For “Idol,” its numbers are on par with prior Monday episodes this season, and the finale was up 0.3 from Sunday’s last performance episode.
