American Idol Casting COVID Safe Live Audience for 4/1 Taping

(ABC/John Fleenor) LIONEL RICHIE, RYAN SEACREST, KATY PERRY, LUKE BRYAN

American Idol is casting a LIVE audience for a taping next week. I got the information from a source who lives in Los Angeles and is on the On Camera Audiences mailing list.

But the seating of the audience won’t be business as usual. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the audience will be limited. Also, ticket holders must be available and submit to a Covid-19 test on March 30. There are other rules too–fans can’t show up in a gang. Only “pods” of three may be seated together

The taping is scheduled for Thursday April 1. I’m assuming the taping is for Top 24 All Star Duets and Solos airing Sunday April 4 and Monday April 5 (See full American Idol schedule HERE).

It may seem odd to have a live audience while California is still partially locked down. But, some awards shows have had limited audiences seated inside. Reportedly, the Academy Awards plans to have a limited audience for their event on April 25. The tickets aren’t advertised on the On Camera Audience page, so expect the seating to be VERY limited.

We are casting American Idol FANS to participate in the LIVE studio audience next week. It’s a very exciting opportunity as you are back on set with Ryan Seacrest, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryant and this season’s contestants. However, duet to CONVID-19, the protocol and procedures have changed in order to keep everyone safe. Seating has been reduced, so space is extremely limited.

Submission requirements and information are as follows:

1. Audience members must be 18 year or older.
2. Audience members must be casted and paid for their participation accordingly to current LA county Health Dept. Rules.
3. Audience must participate in groups of three only from the same household or bubble in order to crate safe “pods.”
