Carrie Underwood dropped by the Today Show on Wednesday (Jan 18) to chat about her busy life. She’ll be performing on the 2017 Grammy Awards, (Best Country Solo Performance nominee for “Church Bells”) she’s promoting her fitness line, Calia and her single “Dirty Laundry” which just became the American Idol season 4 winner’s 25th No. 1 song and fourth consecutive chart topper from her Storyteller album. In just a few hours, Carrie would win Favorite Female Country Artist at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.
The singer also chatted about her recent skydiving adventure in Australia last month, where she was on tour with Keith Urban. “I think every once in a while I have to do something that’s out of character, just to prove that I could,” Carrie said about the risky endeavor. Guest co-host, the delightful Nick Offerman from Parks and Recreation, suggested the group, including Today hosts Al Roker and Tamron Hall could get naked. Carrie passed.
When chatting about her obsession with AMC’s zombie show The Walking Dead, Carrie revealed she had an awkward red carpet run-in with actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (the evil Negan) at the Golden Globes. The singer confirmed that she would love to play a zombie on the show. Offerman reminded her that special effects means hours in the chair. Carrie just laughed and said her makeup routine takes hours anyway. She’s used to it!
