American Idol Online Auditions are NOW Open

Here’s some good news we can certainly use right about now. American Idol auditions are now open, presumably for season 19. If ABC is advertising auditions, the show must be likely for renewal. YAY. Of course, in this unprecedented time of coronavirus pandemic, quarantines and social distancing, the auditions are currently strictly online. Future stars can submit auditions from the comfort of their own living rooms, bedrooms and even bathrooms (HEY THE ACOUSTICS ARE GREAT).

For more information on how to audition, check out americanidol.com/auditions for details. Hopeful singers must be at least 15 years of age. 28 is the upper age limit. Click to check out the eligibility requirements.

Up Next: American Idol Clip Shows feat Laine Hardy

Currently all the previously taped episodes of American Idol have aired, finishing up with a Top 21 reveal. While ABC and American Idol producers decide what to do next, this Sunday will be the first “American Idol: This is Me,” episode. The episode delves deeper into the lives of the Top 21 contestants, as they share their journey so far with all-new spectacular never-before-seen performances. Hopefully, those spectacular performances are FULL PERFORMANCES! *fingers crossed* This special two-part event airs on Sunday, April 12 (8:00-10:00 p.m.) and Sunday, April 19 (8:00-10:00 p.m (all times ET/PT). Reigning American Idol winner, Laine Hardy will appear on the 19th to debut his new music!

What happens after April 19 is anyone’s guess! According to host Ryan Seacrest, The Powers That Be are exploring the latest technologies, devising a way to finish the season while also keeping the cast, crew and artists safe.  I mean, judge Katy Perry is pregnant with a baby girl. She bettah never leave her house! Which I am sure she is not. What we’ll probably get are everyone doing their thing in the comfort of their own abodes.
