Katharine McPhee is pregnant.
The American Idol alum and husband David Foster are expecting their first child together, sources confirm to People magazine.
Katharine and David were spotted out on Tuesday (10/6) in Montecito, California, grabbing lunch together and baby shopping. Check the People link for more photos.
The two married in June 2019 after first meeting in 2006 when he mentored her and her fellow contestants on American Idol season 5.
David is already father to daughters Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34, whom he shared with second wife Rebecca Dyer, and daughters Allison, 50, and Amy, 46, from previous relationships.
In a YouTube video on Oct. 3, Katharine sang Sara Bareilles’ “She Used to Be Mine,” from Waitress. Katharine held her stomach while singing the telling lyrics “And then she’ll get stuck / And be scared of the life that’s inside her / Growing stronger each day ’til it finally reminds her / To fight just a little, to bring back the fire in her eyes / That’s been gone, but used to be mine / Used to be mine.” The singer starred in Waitress in both London’s West End and Broadway.
SUPER FUN FACT! American Idol season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken fathered a baby with David Foster’s sister. That makes his son, Parker Foster Aiken and Katharine’s child first cousins.
