American Idol 9 Top 6 – Who Is Going Home Tonight

I feel pretty confident this week peeps! I think Big Mike Lynche has finally come to the end of his run. So do most of my fellow blogger at the Los Angeles Times Buzzmeter HERE.

Michael performed a soulful rendition of Shania Twain’s “It Only Hurts When I Breath”. But the problem is, Mike hasn’t improved or changed much since his save two weeks ago. Two other performers who have been on the cusp–Aaron Kelly and Casey James both improved this week. I suspect Aaron’s, “It’s In the Way You Love Me, ” a mushy ode to his adoptive mother, picked up a lot of casual votes this week. And Casey  was back to playing the vulnerable country crooner–a strategy that’s worked for him in the past.

Casey and Aaron may be in the bottom 2 or 3 with Mike, but I don’t think they’re going home.

Maybe we’ll have a surprise this week. Both Siobhan Magnus and Lee DeWyze were praised by the judges, but it’s unclear whether viewers connected to their pitchy performances. And Crystal Bowersox appeared to stumble in the judges eyes. Could she be heading for her first trip to the bottom? Anything could happen…

Still, I think Big Mike is going home, and I’m sticking to that.
