Sorry this is so late guys! Super busy weekend!  Let’s get down to it, shall we?

  • Lee DeWyze – “Kiss From A Rose” – Another great recording from Lee.  Based on his pre-Idol and iTunes recordings, I’m really looking forward to his post-Idol record. I hope he gets signed regardless of where he ends up – AudioVideoYou Tube
  • Michael Lynche – “Will You Be There” – Michael is gone, but one thing he had going for him was his consistently. Putting his personality aside, the dude can sing.  This particular song wasn’t a great choice for him, but he sings it with more conviction in the recording that he did on stage.  – AudioVideoYou Tube
  • Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox – “Falling Slowly” – The recorded version of this song? Absolutely gorgeous. The live version was passionate, but a little frentic. The recorded version has a quiet beauty, and some of the little vocal flourishes–particularly from Crystal–are stunning. –  AudioVideoYou Tube
  • Casey James – “Mrs. Robinson” – A big fat BOO to the string section in this recording. Schmaltzy!  Really prefer the live version for that reason. But, Casey’s vocal is very good – Audio – – VideoYou Tube
  • Crystal Bowersox – “I’m Alright” – Love it. Girl makes the song hers, and it works as a suitable anthem as she–hopefully–heads for the AI win.  She’s alright. Indeed. – Audio – – VideoYou Tube
  • Michael Lynche and Casey James – “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” – Michael and Casey did a great job turning this piece of dreck into something tender and sweet in the live. The song loses some of it’s raw appeal in the recorded version. Still, really nice guitar work from Casey. I think it’ll be awhile before we see another guitarist of his caliber on Idol.  Nice vocals from both, too. – AudioVideoYou Tube
