American Idol 2023 Top 20 POLL: Vote for your favorite performances, Choose the eliminated contestants, Who was robbed?
The American Idol 2023 revealed it’s Top 20 Sunday night. Six contestants went home. The 20 safe singers performed for America’s vote. (Read our Recap)
On Monday (April 24) in another 3 hour episode, Host Ryan Seacrest will declare TEN singers safe. The Top 10 will sing a song of VICTORY. The remaining TEN singers will perform for TWO wildcard spots, chosen by judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. The show ends with a Top 12.
Ahead of Monday’s show, vote for the EIGHT contestants YOU believe voters and the judges will eliminate. Then vote for the Top 26 eliminated singer YOU believe got ROBBED. Or maybe nobody was robbed! Finally, vote for your TWO favorite Top 20 performances.

Time to ditch the Platinum Tickets?
Out of four Platinum Ticket holders, Tyson Venegas was the only singer to make it as far as the Top 20. Maybe the Platinum Ticket was a cute gimmick for the 20th anniversary and the show should retire it now? The show tried really hard to make Elijah McCormick happen, and they just could not. Performing early in the night in the lineup, as he did in Hawaii, was tough, but he needed to choose a killer song and did not.
A few surprising eliminations…
Emma Busse’s elimination was surprising. She’s been consistently good all season. Poor Dawson Wayne and Malik Heard couldn’t overcome their lack of screen time. Elise Kristine was never memorable past her audition.
The new set not much different than the old set. It’s worth mentioning again that American Idol (along with Dancing with the Stars and others) were forced to leave CBS Studios after the network sold it off. The space will still serve as a film studio, but is currently undergoing renovations. The Price is Right and some others were also forced to move.
Favorite performances of the night: Wé Ani’s Skyfall, Megan Danielle’s Holy Water, Nailyah Serenity’s Baby Love, Lucy’s Love’s original Boulders, Kaeyra’s Bruises. Gotta say, the gals outsung the guys.
