Hi guys, Adam here with another batch of song suggestions!

In past weeks, my song suggestions for the contestants have been just that: suggestions. With all the clues the contestants have been giving this week, I will be taking a step away from suggestions this time around for more of an educated guesses type response as to what I think the contestants will be singing. For contestants where there are little to no clues, I might take a little more liberty, but please keep in mind that these are only for fun.

One fear that I have going into this week is that we are due for a shocker. This season has been pretty void of those horrifying results, and we know they have always found their ways into past seasons. The most at risk this week, for me, is actually anyone not named Clark or Tyanna. Qaasim and Daniel, the whipping boys of this season are now gone, so someone is going to have to round out that bottom spot with Rayvon. The fact that it could be almost anyone has me super worried about these coming results.

That said, once again we are in for a not only very broad theme, but also very vague. I mean, by whose standards is a song a classic? The Sesame Street theme song for me is a classic, does that mean I can sing it on Idol? I worry that this concept of “classic” means a short list of 20 or so songs from the producers that all the contestants can pick from like Unchained Melody and Hallelujah. The term classic is so vague, that I’m really afraid the producers will just use it to force the contestants into doing really old and overdone songs.

*ahem

Anyway, in the past, for me, Idol has really been under-delivering, so I just hope this week we get more then one or two above average performances. I want the winner of this season to deserve the title, and so far the only one who really has consistently been delivering and deserves it is Clark. I never thought I’d say it, but I’m finding it starting to get boring watching Clark utterly slay the other contestants with little to no fight being put up (except for Tyanna, props to her for really delivering last week). Come on contestants, we all know Clark is taking this thing home, but please at least put up a fight!

Anyway, without further introductions, please take a look at my guesses for what each contestant will be performing.

Clark Beckham
Clark is currently running away with this competition. Picking out songs for Clark this week is simply speculation, as there are no clues, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
1- Try a Little Tenderness, by Otis Redding. For me, one of my favorite Clark performances was when he did this song back in Hollywood Week. Bonus points if he brings back the piano for this song.
2- Here I Go Again, by Whitesnake. Clark is already at the front of the pack, now I want to see him take a risk or two. This song would definitely be a risk and outside of his comfort zone, but I think he could still do well with it.

JAX
JAX’s songs this week are both the easiest and hardest to pick out. One song she basically spelled out for her followers on Twitter, but the other is more tricky to figure out. This said Twitter hint that she gave included a pizza emoji followed by a heart, so I have a pretty good educated guess as to what song that is. For the other song, I have a hunch what it will be, because she did say it was iconic by an iconic group, but let me know in the comments what you think.
1- Bridge Over Troubled Waters, by Simon and Garfunkel. At this point, I am on my knees begging you, JAX BRING BACK THE PIANO AND DO AN ENTIRE SONG WITH JUST IT. JAX has said in the past that it is her dream to perform this song on the Idol stage, and if she brings back the piano for this one I think she will have a much needed moment. I have a good feeling not only will this be the week we will be hearing this song from her, but it will also be her redemption week.
2- Piece of My Heart, by Janis Joplin. JAX basically spelled out that she is doing this song, and my only hope is it is the song she performs first, saving her last performance for a piano one. This is not the number one song I would suggest for her (or even the 100th), but if she has already decided on it there isn’t much we can do at this point.

Joey Cook
The only hints we got from Joey this week is that one of her songs is one of her all time favorite. I personally hope we hear a cool rearrangement from her this week.
1- My Funny Valentine, by Chet Baker. Joey said she is doing one of her favorite songs, and a while ago she said this was her favorite song.
2- Somewhere Over The Rainbow, by Judy Garland. This is a total wild guess, but I’d love to see what she did with this song if she tried it.

Nick Fradiani
Nick’s hints this week were that he was doing a song by a “T.P.” (Tom Petty?) and a rearranged ballad that was originally a uptempo song (interesting). Pretty vague hints, but I found on Twitter he dropped another hint that he is doing a Billy Joel song! That rearranged Billy Joel song took me a while to give a solid guess, so if you disagree with me, which I bet you will, I would love if you let me know in the comments what song you think he is referring to!
1- American Girl, by Tom Petty. This song matches Nick’s hint, and I really would love to hear him do this song over Free Fallin.
2- Only The Good Die Young, by Billy Joel. I could be totally off with this guess, but Nick said he is slowing down a fast song of Billy’s, and this is the only song that really jumped out at me as possibly benefiting from a rearrangement.

Quentin Alexander
I’m a little worried for Quentin going into this week. I have this nudging feeling that somehow he will be in the bottom 2 singing for the Twitter save. If that is the case, Quentin needs a good pair of songs that will keep him safe this week and the week beyond. Quentin’s hints were pretty vague, he only said that he is bringing back the crazy, so my guesses for him will only be suggestions.
1- Life On Mars?, by David Bowie. When Quentin said he is going to bring the crazy, I got the impression that means he will being doing a Bowie tune. I would love to see what he does with this song.
2- The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, by Roberta Flack. This is the kind of song Quentin needs this week. I seem him doing spectacular things with this song.

Rayvon Owen
Rayvon’s clues this week were that one of his songs was high energy, while the other was an emotional ballad. The clues were not very helpful in guessing his songs, so my guesses for him will simply be fun suggestions.
1- Johnny B Goode, by Chuck Berry. For his high energy song, I would love to hear Rayvon take on this classic song.
2- Your Song, by Elton John. I would love is this actually was the slow song he had in mind. Could be good.

Tyanna Jones
Tyanna said she is bringing back the sass this week! That leaves the door open for plenty of songs, but here are my guess as to what she was talking about.
1- Respect, by Aretha Franklin. This song definitely has a ton of sass. I could see her doing well with it.
2- Landslide, by Fleetwood Mac. This song is just a suggestion, because when Tyanna said she was bringing the sass I think she was only referring to one song. That said, I’d love to hear Tyanna try out this song.

So those are my thoughts, what are yours? Do you think we might be in for a shocker this coming elimination? Let me know down in the comments!
