Details for next week have the Top 4 visiting their hometowns on Friday, performing three songs on Wednesday, and a Top 3 heading to the final. I’m sure there will be more details about the finale in the coming week. We do know that Jax will be duetting with Steven Tyler, as revealed on this week’s broadcast. The finale performance show airs Tuesday May 12 and the finale on May 13.
According to a FOX press release, the finalists will perform THREE songs:
- Judges Pick
- Scott Borchetta’s Pick
- Contestant’s Pick to sing as a hometown tribute

On Wednesday, May 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) the Top Four return to their hometowns for the iconic IDOL homecoming, as well as which finalists make it to the Top Three and are heading to the finale.
So is it a 3 person finale? The release states that 3 finalists will head to the finale. Will one be eliminated on performance night? Or will all 3 get to sing for a chance at the crown?
