It’s getting tougher and tougher to predict who is going home. Last week’s surprising boot indicates that all bets are off with this crew, but I’ll take a stab at it.
My prediction for elimination this week is Paul McDonald. He sang 1st. His performance of “Old Time Rock and Roll” was manic and all over the place. His vocals are tired. And I don’t think his quirky self is coming across on the Idols stage that well.
Stefano Langone will join him in the bottom 3, but I think he’ll be safe again. He may have gotten some pity votes for the horrible experience he had last week as the “one who should have bit it” during Pia’s ouster.
That 3rd spot? Hm. Scotty McCreery and James Durbin are likely totally safe. I think Lauren Alaina probably is too. So it will be either Jacob Lusk, Haley Reinhart or Casey Abrams rounding out the bottom. If a I had to pick one…I’m going with Jacob. His decent performance will keep him safe, but America may still be mad at him for calling them out.
