The Top 5 will sing TWO songs this week. One from the 1960s (a time even their parents may be too young to remember!) and NOW.
There’s some debate about exactly what now means, but I’m going to assume it’s the 21st century when I pick my tunes.
Check out my picks after the jump. When the Top 5 hit the big stage on Wednesday, what do you think the Idols should sing?
James Durbin – 1960s – “I Fought the Law” by the Bobby Fuller 4 or “Summertime Blues” by Blue Cheer. NOW – “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White Tees
Scotty McCreery – 1960s – “Witchita Lineman” or “Galveston” by Glen Campbell NOW: Frankly, I’m at a loss–too many modern country songs I’m not familiar with.
Lauren Alaina – 1060s – “I’m Sorry” by Brenda Lee or “The End of the World” by Skeeter Davis NOW: “Fifteen” by Taylor Swift
Jacob Lusk – 1960s “Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding, NOW: “Down” by Jay Sean
Haley Reinhart – 1960s – “Don’t You Want Somebody to Love” by Jefferson Airplane NOW: “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie
