The Amazing Race 28 Recap Week 6 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with Brodie talking to Phil about his budding showmance with Blair. He said he would like to take her out on a date after the race. Afterwards, the next leg begins. Teams will now fly to Yureven, Armenia. They must go to the Yurevan Opera Theater to find their next clue. Tyler and Korey came in first place in the last leg, and they are happy about finishing in the Top 2 throughout the entire race so far.

After booking tickets and making their way to the airport, the teams fly to Armenia. They rush to taxis to drive to the opera theater. They learn that the winner of this leg of the race will win an Express Pass that will be valid until the ninth leg of the race. All the teams are on equal footing as they have to wait until the next morning to enter the opera theater. They are told that their clue is hidden in the theater. Everyone looks around the chairs, but Kurt and Brodie are the first to ask the custodian working there. The custodian gives them the clue, and they learn they must go to the Cascade (a giant staircase). They must climb all the way to the top where the next clue box awaits. Sheri and Cole, Dana and Matt, and Burnie and Ashley finally realize they must ask the custodian for the clue, but Zach and Rachel, Scott and Blair, and Tyler and Korey are still searching around the theater in confusion.

Kurt and Brodie are the first team to reach the Cascade. They read their next clue and learn they have a Detour to complete: Thread or Bread. They can either crochet 200 stitches on a carpet or shape and make fifteen pieces of bread. Kurt and Brodie and Burnie and Ashley choose Bread; Sheri and Cole and Dana and Matt choose Thread.

Zach and Rachel finally ask the custodian for the clue, but Scott and Blair and Tyler and Korey are still looking around. However, they do finally ask the custodian, but they are way behind the other teams.

Kurt and Brodie and Burnie and Ashley begin the Bread Detour as Sheri and Cole begin the Thread Detour. Zach and Rachel, Scott and Blair, and Tyler and Korey reach the Cascade as Dana and Matt finally arrive at the Thread Detour. Kurt and Brodie get their fifteen pieces of bread inspected, but only six pieces pass the expert’s inspection. Burnie and Ashley get theirs checked next, but only eight pieces pass. Meanwhile, Scott and Blair, Zach and Rachel, and Tyler and Korey arrive at the Thread Detour too.

Brodie and Kurt complete their Detour first and get their next clue. They learn they must board a party bus and make their way to the city of Hatsavan. Right afterwards, Sheri and Cole are the first to finish the Thread Detour. They can now make their way to Hatsavan too. As Brodie and Kurt and Sheri and Cole board separate party buses, Burnie and Ashley finish their Detour too. They are followed by Zach and Rachel, Tyler and Korey, and Scott and Blair. Dana and Matt are the last to finish their Detour. However, Dana and Matt manage to get into a taxi before Tyler and Korey. Tyler and Korey are the last to catch a taxi on the way to the public square where the party buses awaits.

It’s time for the Roadblock. One team member must do an oil change on a car. If the mechanic approves, then they can drive that car to the Pit Stop. Kurt is the first to begin the Roadblock as the other teams are making their way there. Sheri and Cole arrive, and Sheri does the Roadblock for them. Kurt and Sheri get a good amount of time working on the Roadblock before any other teams arrive. Sheri is having difficulty, and she asks Kurt for guidance. However, he refuses to help since there is an Express Pass on the line. Kurt does manage to finish the Roadblock, and he and Brodie can now make their way to the Pit Stop.

Other teams begin to arrive. Burnie and Ashley and Zach and Rachel arrive, with the men doing the Roadblock. Meanwhile, Brodie and Kurt arrive at the Pit Stop. Brodie and Kurt are Team #1! They win the Express Pass too. They have the option to skip a task they do not want to do until the ninth leg of the race.

Back at the Roadblock, the other teams arrive, and Tyler, Scott, and Matt do the Roadblock for their teams. As they get started, Burnie is the next to finish the Roadblock. He and Ashley can now make their way to the Pit Stop, and they greet Phil as Team #2. They are followed by Zach and Rachel, and Zach and Rachel greet Phil as Team #3.

Sheri is still struggling with the Roadblock despite getting there much earlier than everyone else there. Tyler even decides to help Scott so they both can try to finish before Sheri. Sheri begins breaking down in tears and she says she doesn’t want to disappoint Cole. As Sheri tries to figure out how to properly remove a funnel, Dana and Matt greet Phil as Team #4. After Scott finishes his oil change, he helps out Sheri and she finally realizes she was turning a part the wrong way. Scott and Blair greet Phil as Team #5.

It’s now down to Sheri and Cole and Tyler and Korey. Both teams manage to complete the Roadblock at the same time, so it’s very close as they drive to the Pit Stop. Sheri and Cole’s taxi driver manage to pass Tyler and Korey at one point too, hinting that Tyler and Korey will be in last place. However, Tyler and Korey arrive at the Pit Stop before them and greet Phil as Team #6. Sheri and Cole are the last to arrive at the Pit Stop, and Sheri is in tears. Phil tells her to keep her head up because this is a non-elimination leg. Sheri and Cole are given another clue and told to keep racing.
