Here it is. Your first The Voice 10 Blind Auditions preview. The contestant featured here will undoubtedly be the most experienced and well known singer in the Top 48. Alisan Porter is a former child actress who starred in Curly Sue back in the 90s.
As an adult, she garnered renown as a singer. Many Idol fans are familiar with her as she is great pals with American Idol season 8 singer, Adam Lambert. He and Alisan co-penned the song “Aftermath” which appeared on his 2009 debut album, For Your Entertainment.
Why is a performer with so much experience and prior connections auditioning for a reality show? Alisan explains to the panel, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton, that she took a few years off from the business. Eight years ago she got sober, got married and started a family. Now she’s back, on The Voice, to hopefully kickstart her singing career.
Alisan belts a rendition of Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou” that elicits a four chair turn. That’s when the fun begins, as Adam and Christina, especially, work to woo her onto their teams.
