There is a shakeup a foot on The Voice panel. The Wrap is reporting that Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will join the panel for season 11. (The Voice producers have NOW CONFIRMED both will be joining the coaches panel for season 11.)

International recording superstars Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will be joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as coaches for season 11 of NBC’s two-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice.”
The 11th season will begin in September.
Both Cyrus and Keys are passionate fans of “The Voice”: Cyrus is a key adviser on the current season and Keys served as a mentor for season seven.
“The musical expertise and energy these two incredibly talented women will bring to the show is remarkable,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We’re thrilled that they’ll be joining Adam and Blake in what we know will be a magical 11th season.”
Miley. I could take her as a key advisor for a week or two. But an entire season of her annoying I’M NOT A DISNEY STAR ANYMORE Y’ALL! I SMOKE POT, TAKE MOLLY, SWEAR AND GET NAKED! OF WHICH I’LL BE REMINDING YOU EVERY SINGLE SECOND THAT I POSSIBLY CAN! schtick. I may not live through it.
With Alicia and Miley joining as coaches, that means the panel will be an even gender split for the first time in The Voice history.
NBC owns Monday and Tuesday nights, but the ratings have gone down every season, with the last Tuesday night outing garnering a 2.5 rating. The shakeup is probably to keep the ratings from tumbling further. The Voice needs to take a page from Idol though, when they tried to appeal to a younger demographic by adding Nicki Minaj to the panel, the base deserted and the younguns weren’t impressed. The good news, is Alicia seems to be a secure and patient woman. It’s hard to imagine there would be the kind of infighting on the panel that American Idol suffered.
Update: The Wrap added an update to their report that Gwen Stefani is “likely” to return next spring, in an undetermined lineup that “could” include Pharrell Williams.
Miley is the first to confirm the news on Instagram. No wonder The Voice has been promoting her Key Advisor stint non stop ad nauseum.
