Alex Preston was eliminated from American Idol tonight. The singer songwriter from Mont Vernon, New Hampshire exited the competition in 3rd place, leaving Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene to battle for the crown next week. Alex will be back for next week’s finale, when he performs with one of his musical idols, Jason Mraz.
It appears that Alex’s winners single, “I Love this Feeling” has not been released to iTunes. Not yet, anyway. We heard a bit of it during this week’s Ford spot. Hopefully, TPTB eventually make the song available to Alex’s fans.
During a dramatic elimination, Alex and Caleb Johnson stood on stage awaiting their fates. When Ryan announced that it was Caleb who would be advancing to the final, Alex totally kept his cool
After congratulating Caleb, and watching the always heart-tugging goodbye package (the singer’s version of “Breakaway” is pretty sweet, by the way), Alex continued to keep it together for one last performance.
One final time, Alex took the stage to sing a strong version of his original song, “Fairytale.”
