Daily Number’s Thread – 06/07/16

Today’s thread is brought to you by the number 4 and 60.16.

Four is the magic number for Fifth Harmony this week. Not only were they fourth on the BB200 this week, they also continued at number 4 on the Hot 100 with their hit “Work from Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Fourth is their peak on that chart.

Drake continues to top the Hot 100 chart with “One Dance” thanks to its on-deman popularity. Top of the streaming chart, though, is Desiigner’s “Panda”. “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from JT is 3rd for another week as it top the Radio chart in just 5 weeks (Adele was the last to be anywhere that fast when she topped the charts in four weeks with “Hello”. JT is the fastest male to do it in 25 years since MJ with “Black or White” in 1991 (3 weeks)).

The top 10 is fairly stagnant this week with all top 7 positions holding. The Chainsmoker’s “Don’t Let Me Down” stays at 5th, “7 Years” from Lukas Graham sticks at sixth and Mike Posner’s continues at 7th with “I Took a Pill in Ibiza”. Rihanna moves up a spot to 8th with “Needed Me” and is right behind herself featured on Calvin Harris’ “This is What You Came For. P!nk arrives in the top 10 with “Just Like Fire” from “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.

HDD has a table of the streaming market share and the change since mid-march. Spotify continues to dominate with a 60.16% share, but they are down almost 5% in the last three months. Apple Music is made about that much of a gain to 29.42%. And then there is everybody else fighting over the remaining ~10%. Amazon is holding steady, Tidal’s exclusives (most prominent recently are Beyonce, Prince and Kanye) is up less than a percentage gaining about what Google last.
