America’s Got Talent 2018 contestant Courtney Hadwin has signed with Simon Cowell’s SYCO record label.
The fourteen year old singer from the United Kingdom impressed AGT fans with over-the-top performances of rock classics by Tina Turner, James Brown, Otis Redding and Steppenwolf. In 2017, the young singer competed on The Voice UK, where she placed in the Top 6.
Simon said he was “really excited about her future”. “I will never forget her first audition on the show this year, and now we have the opportunity to work with her alongside Arista – it’s fantastic,” he said.
Courtney was considered to be a front runner all season on AGT, but while she finished America’s Got Talent season 13 in the Top 10, she placed outside of the Top 5. Close up magician, Shin Lim, ultimately won the competition.
The singer announced her deal on social media, alongside of a photo of herself with Simon and of her signing a contract. She wrote “So excited to finally say that I have signed a record deal with SYCO and @aristarecords. Thank you so much this wouldn’t be possible without all your support #dreamsdocometrue now let’s make music…”

Courtney will also be taking part in America’s Got Talent: The Champions along with 49 other competitors from previous Got Talent series from the USA and around the world. America’s Got Talent: The Champions premieres on NBC on Monday, January 7.
