Simon Cowell is wasting no time releasing music by Grace Vanderwaal. The 12 year old singer/songwriter won 2016 America’s Got Talent, NBC’s variety talent competition, back in September. Often compared to pop star Taylor Swift, the young singer won the competition on the strength of her self-penned songs. In the cover-obsessed world of singing shows, performing only self-penned originals is unheard of.
Cowell signed young Grace to his SYCO record label shortly after she nabbed the crown. The EP, Perfectly Imperfect, will be available for pre-order on Friday November 18 and will be out everywhere on December 2. Pre-orders include a download of her AGT signature song, “You Don’t Know My Name.” It’s the perfectly imperfect stocking stuffer! Sorry.
Also, watch for Grace on the holiday special, America’s Got Talent Holiday Spectacular, airing 8 p.m. EST Dec. 19 on NBC.
