America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara divorcing Joe Manganiello after 7 years of marriage
Sofía Vergara and husband Joe Manganiello have separated and are divorcing after seven years of marriage.
The couple told Page Six in a statement: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
The America’s Got Talent judge is currently celebrating her 51st birthday in Italy with pals, but not her husband or her wedding ring. Today Sofia posted a few photos with the caption: “Last days of vacay! Even when u r so hot I love u Ravello!!!”
“Sofia and Joe have been growing apart for awhile”
A source told Page 6: “Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”
The couple was last seen together last month in Hoboken, N.J., as Vergara visited Manganielloon the set of his new project Nonnas with Vince Vaughn.
Another Page 6 source said: “At the start of Sofia’s big birthday trip those close to her were explaining away Joe’s absence with the excuse that he was busy filming back on the East Coast; that excuse barely held up due to the writers strike, but once the actor’s strike took effect, he could have been on the first flight… and he quite clearly is not. So now no one out there with her is even attempting to pretend that it’s not over. It’s over. It’s done.”
The couple wed in a lavish Palm Beach ceremony in November 2015 in front of 400 guests, including Sofia’s Modern Family co-stars Ariel Winter, Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland and Ty Burrell.
America’s Got Talent auditions are airing now on NBC. In August, Sofia will join judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and host Terry Crews to broadcast the live shows. The cast taped the auditions in Pasadena back in April. Sofia joined AGT as a judge for season 15 in 2020. She’s currently in the middle of her fourth season on the show.
