AGT: Fantasy League premiere lineup includes fan favorite acts competing on judges teams
The new format from America’s Got Talent, AGT: Fantasy League premiers on New Years Day. The eight week season features 40 acts chosen by viewers. Before the acts took the stage, the judges–Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B. and Simon Cowell–took turns choosing their ‘dream team” members. The process is similar to the way captains choose sports pickup teams.
The winner of AGT: Fantasy League nabs a $250K prize. For more on how the format will work and the schedule, check out the link below.
AGT: Fantasy League: Schedule and Format, Details to Know!
The Auditions round lasts four weeks, with 10 acts competing each week. The studio audience votes for five acts to advance to the next round. Each judge gets a golden buzzer which they can use to advance their own team members, OR STEAL a fellow judge’s contestant! The Golden Buzzer act goes straight to the finale, bypassing the semi-final round.
Interestingly, the 10 act line up is VERY lopsided. In the premier episode it’s Four-three-two-one split! Returning judge, Mel B. gets the week 1 Golden Buzzer.
America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League airs Mondays on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT for the next eight weeks.
Check out all the acts below.
Billy & Emily England – Danger Acrobats – AGT S12, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S1, BGT S9
This sibling act has been roller skating together since they were toddlers. The duo performs death defying acrobatics while skating. Often, Emily is in mortal danger as Billy swings her around, her head dangerously close to the ground. It’s a thrilling act. Surprisingly, on AGT 12 in 2017 and The Champions 2 in 2020, the duo was eliminated at the semifinals. Nevertheless, they’ve headlined a Las Vegas show for the last five years.
Hans – Comedian – AGT S13, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S2
Hans aka Matt Gilbertson, is a joke act. But a really fun one. A FABULOUS “German” accordian player and dancer, Hans brings all the glammy energy to AGT. He usually doesn’t advance very far, but who cares. Matt hales from Australia, and the joke is when Heidi speaks to him in German, it’s obvious he doesn’t understand a word she says.
Jon Dorenbos – Magician – AGT S11, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S1
Jon became a fan-favorite act. When he competed on season 11 in 2016, when he was still an NFL special teams football player for the Philadelphia Eagles. After the competition, Jon suffered heart issues and retired from the NFL. But since then, he wrote a book, traveled the world over, performed magic on the Tony Robbins tour and more. His backstore is tragic–his father murdered his mother when he was only 12 years old. Jon finished the competition in 3rd place. On Champions, he finished as a Top 12 finalist. The last time he performed on AGT as a guest, his trick failed. So he is also redeeming himself, in a sense.
Kodi Lee – Singer – AGT S14, AGT: ALL-STARS
Kodi won America’s Got Talent season 14 in 2019 as Gabrielle Union’s Golden Buzzer. Blind and autistic, Kodi always had a natural talent for music. His mother shared that he picked up the piano and singing on his own, and can memorize music and lyrics very quickly. He also competed on All Stars in 2022, finishing the competition as a finalist. Currently he is a headlining performer at the America’s Got Talent Las Vegas residency at the Luxor.
Kristy Sellars – Pole Dancer – AGT S17
Kristy, an Australian Dancer/Pole Dancer, finished season 17 in 2022 as the runner-up. Her multimedia pole dancing routines thrilled AGT audiences, but Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer Mayyas, a female dance group from the Middle East, had the season sewn up. Kristy has spent the past year and a half performing her act on social media and more.
Kseniya Simonova – Sand Artist – UKRAINE’S GOT TALENT S1, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S1
Kseniya and her unusual sand animation won the first season of Ukraine’s Got Talent in 2009. Host Terry Crews gave her his Golden Buzzer when she competed on AGT: Champions, which sent her strait into the finals where she finished in 3rd place. She also appeared on BGT: The Champions in 2019 and received Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer, advancing to the show finals.
Maria Seiren – Opera Singer – JAPAN’S GOT TALENT S1
Maria won a recent season of Japan’s Got Talent. She’s an opera singer who performs credibly in both a female soprano voice and male tenor. In an article posted after she won the title, the singer reveals she was born a male and was bullied for his high voice. But she does not feel it’s important to go into detail about her gender or sexuality.
Shadow Ace – Shadow Puppets – AGT S18
Shadow Ace aka Philip Galit, returns to the Got Talent world after competing on AGT this past summer. He performs a humorous and sometimes randy puppet act. Often, female characters are the protagonists who, in the end, prevail over evil male oppressors. Shadow Ace garnered 230 million views for his AGT videos! The most viral act of the season, but was eliminated at the semi-finals. The puppeteer is from the Philippines where he perfected his act as a child. NBC uploaded an early release of their audition, as a member of Howie Mandel’s team, a few days ago. Watch HERE.
Tape Face – Mime/Comedian – AGT S11, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S1
The clever comedic mime from New Zealand made it to the finals on season 11 in 2016, but was eliminated in the Champions season 1 preliminary rounds. In his act, his mouth covered with black tape, he cleverly mimes his way through creative scenarios. He often mocks the judges. Currently, Tape Face is headlining a show in Las Vegas.
V. Unbeatable – Dance/Acrobatic Crew – AGT S14, AGT: THE CHAMPIONS S2
V. Unbeatable, Howie’s Golden Buzzer, were fan favorites to win AGT season 14 in 2019, but they finished the season in 4th place (Kodi Lee won the season). However, the Indian acrobatic group went on to win AGT: The Champions season 2 in 2020. Beyond their death defying talent, the group pulled heart strings with their backstory which revealed their struggle to triumph over poverty. NBC uploaded a preview, revealing that the group is competing on Howie Mandel’s team. Watch HERE.
