Aidan Bryant was the talented 16 year old aerialist who was completely self-taught. He set up his backyard as a training area where he created and practiced his routines. Despite no professional training, Aidan’s skills brought him to a 2nd place finish behind winner Dustin Tavella, the storytelling magician on America’s Got Talent season 16.

Aidan was “crushed” when he lost to magician Dustin Tavella on season 16

Now he’s back to compete again on America’s Got Talent: All Stars as part of the Week 2 lineup. Aiden recalls waiting on stage with Dustin for the results. While the crowd chanted his name, he was confident he would take the crown. Losing AGT “totally crushed” Aidan. Simon Cowell remembers talking to him afterward. “He was in pieces,” Simon reveals.

Now, Aidan is back to prove himself. Dustin is also competing on All Stars and is also appearing on Week 2. “I cannot lose to him again,” Aidan declares.

Before Aidan takes the stage, a production person sprays his hair and combs it back. Judge Heidi Klum speculates that it’s to keep his hair from getting caught. This time, Aidan works with a large metal triangle, which he uses similarly to silks. He twists his body all around it, as it hoists him high in the air.

After two years, Aidan has upped his game

He makes a tiny mistake at one point, but doesn’t allow it to deter him. Quickly, he’s back up in the air swinging very fast, Up and down, at times using the ropes holding the triangle like silks. In the two years since he competed, Aidan has upped a game that was already pretty spectacular. The hair deal? Slicking it back allowed him to shake it loose at the end. Very dramatic! His showmanship is on point.

Heidi says, “I feel like this was the best performance yet from you.” Dustin is off stage looking mighty uncomfortable! Howie Mandel admits that he’s not a fan of single person aerial acts. However, he concedes that Aidan’s latest routine “seemed scarier and more dangerous…this was definitely much better than anything I have seen you do.” Simon thinks he’s one of the most talented contestants to come from America’s Got Talent. “You’ve come back stronger, better and more confident, a better performer,” Simon added, “That was a 10.”

Will the superfans vote Aidan through to the finale? Or will he be defeated once again? Tune into America’s Got Talent: All Stars, Monday Jan. 9 on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT to find out.
