When Peter Rosalita competed on America’s Got Talent in 2021, his audition got over 50 million views. Celine Dion even noticed the performance with a Tweet. “It’s not every day that the judges’ jaws drop,” the iconic singer wrote, adding that when Peter sang, “it’s totally understandable!

In the semi-final round, unfortunately, Peter, who is 11 years old now, got very nervous. “There was that hiccup,” he explains in his video package. More specifically, the young singer missed his cue and asked production to restart the track. He quickly recovered and went on to perform a solid rendition of “Without You,” originally by Badfinger, but covered by Mariah Carey in the 90s.

At the results show the next night, Peter stood next to fellow All Star contestant, Dustin Tavella. Dustin advanced to the final and ultimately won the season. Peter was eliminated that night.

“This is my second chance,” said Peter, who lives in Abu Dhabi but whose family is originally from the Philippines. “I’m gonna make sure that there will be no hiccups.”

No “hiccups” this time

On stage, Simon Cowell asks Peter to describe his dream. “To become an international singer and have my own album,” he answered, admitting that he’s very nervous. “You’re very talented,” Simon reassures him. He performs “Go the Distance” from the Disney animated film Hercules. No hiccups this time. He acquits himself quite well, nailing the key change. Enjoy nailing the high notes while you can, Peter!

The judges, including Simon, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel give the young singer a standing ovation. “You were belting this out!” Heidi remarked, and calls him a “star in the making.” Peter mentions that he got a dog after the show and approaches the judges table to show puppy-loving Simon a photo. “She’s gorgeous!” he says.

Peter further explains that he was more nervous than ever because he has a sore throat. Germ-phobic Howie freaks out a little, and doesn’t take his seat again until Peter returns to the stage. Howie is impressed that Peter sounded so good, regardless that he didn’t feel well.

Simon calls Peter “very old-fashioned.” Nevertheless, he compliments the singer’s voice saying that it has “actually got better” from his last appearance on AGT. He believes Peter has a shot at being voted through by the “superfans.”

Will Peter make it to the finals this time? Tune into America’s Got Talent: All Stars week 5 auditions on NBC Monday January 30 at 8 pm ET/PT to find out.
