  1. Best vocals on FYE live to date.

A tame performance but good nonetheless considering what goes on at Mardi Gras in Sydney! He rocked the outfit and the glitter. Way to go BB!

  2. I’m lovin’ this, but the whole thing made me crack up thinking he came off of American Idol! From what I can hear, his vocals sounded great — maybe the best live version yet?

  3. Just Awesome! Gay Sydney Mardi Gras is freakin’ crazy. i am sure Adam is fittin’ in just fine there.

  4. Perfect song choice for this occasion and well done. It would have been nice if the band was there but like Monte said I can see that they don’t have the facility for it so they use a tape version of the music itself, which is fine. Adam never ceases to entertain me with his vocals, styles and little surprises. Bravo!

  5. OrangeOrenjifye Twas necessary for @adamlamberts codpiece at Sydney Mardi Gras. Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye, you know!

    http://i50.tinypic.com/x6lv8.jpg

Ah, isn’t that sweet, the little gold angel is holding it up. :)

  6. LMAO you go boy! love da outfit and dancers. I wish I could go to one of his concerts someday to see this craziness in person :(

  7. …and gokey thought the “green man” picture would destroy you….Adam you’re great…Rock on

  8. OMG……I love this Adam as much as acoustic Adam. His smile at the end is priceless. So happy he can just be himself.

I agree the vocal sounds incredible!! and that outfit leaves almost nothing to the imagination LOL

I can’t believe he came off Idol either.

  9. Well that was certainly entertaining !

LOL, must have been a fun time > loved the outfit.

  10. I can’t put into words the fabulousness of this performance .. I’m so pleased that Adam got to really dress up on this Aussie trip and be “Zodiac” Adam for the night (or should that be morning?)

FYE isn’t my favourite song when performed live as the start can be a bit tuneless and “talky” but once he get’s into it his vocals are great .. perfect song for the occasion

I hope when he comes to the UK he performs at “Heaven” one of London’s most famous gay clubs who tend to get a lot of the big and poplular artists of the moment performing .. he’ll go down a storm there with both the gay and straight clientelle

Ew I googled ‘codpiece’ ! Remind me never to do that again!!! ;/

Sorry luv…I didn’t put a note on the twitpic for you!

So glad he could just let loose and have fun!!!

  12. Great! I hope ABC will invite Adam and these dancers to
    this year’s AMA:)

LOL I agree with you except– tame is a relative term, isn’t it? To the typical AI viewer this would not be viewed as tame. :)

And I think Adam has learned he can’t bop around so much on this song– he has to focus on the vocals. And it works– this was really good vocally!!

  14. This was the best vocal of FYE Live to date. He was so comfortable on stage and having fun. I think if he gave this version of FYE on the AMA it would have been a hit. Some controversy but nothing so OMG save the children. Also if his vocals were like there were here it would have been received better. I still think the AMA was a great learning experience for Adam. If he was nervous here it sure didn’t show.

I loved the outfit. I actually thought it was pretty tame compared to what I imagined it would be. Just a not this outfit was skin tight. No fat!!!!! Adam looked really good. Nice butt!!!. who knew!!!

I wish I was there it seemed like fun. Was there any videos of the other performers. Just wondering how Adam compared. My thought is he was on of the better vocals and most well received performers.

Great job Adam Keep killing it each time and the fact that you are gay will be less of an issue. But I disagree that it will ever go away and never be an issue. But here is hoping I am as wrong as I was with the Cumulus adds. ;-) I love Ketchup!!!

  15. NEVER WANT TO HEAR ANYONE ON THIS SITE AGAIN SAYING ADAM HAS GAINED WEIGHT OR NEEDS TO LOSE WEIGHT – JUST SAY’IN

Great! I hope ABC will invite Adam and these dancers to
    this year’s AMA:)

I think The Today Show has this act lined up for their summer concert series. It’s a make-up date from the AMA cancellation. LOL!

  17. Thanks MJ, looks like BB was having a blast!!! He fit right in.Good job, Adam. Fabulous OTT outfit!!!

  18. OMG Adam!!!! SOOOOOOO SEXYYYYYY
the skin tight suit, the a$$, what a fine a$$ *thub*
    replaythevideoreplaythevideoreplaythevideoreplaythevideo

  19. NEVER WANT TO HEAR ANYONE ON THIS SITE AGAIN SAYING ADAM HAS GAINED WEIGHT OR NEEDS TO LOSE WEIGHT – JUST SAY’IN

well other than gaining a couple of pounds in the codpiece department I would agree with you .. lol

yeah he looked great in those tights, not many people could have pulled that look off .. I adore his boots/leg guards

  20. What’s fun about Mardi Gras in Sydney is that yes it is a gay event but it envelops the entire city.
People in Sydney are much less hung up on gay or straight. It is a fabulous event for everyone in the city not just gays. AND Adam really should feel honored that he was asked to perform and to close the event is really something. I am positive he is having the time of his life. I know I did when I went. It’s so wild, fun and so entertaining.

  21. Why oh why has Adam been hiding that fine ass? And the “codpiece”? I can’t even…
Oh, and he sang great too.

  22. btw its hilarious to compare this video to some of the others on this site…..this guy came from american idol? lol adam knows his audience doesnt he?? from wearing this stuff tonight to that amazing performance on Leno…todays mardi gras performance is full-out zodiac show, a full circle moment for him im sure

  23. Yay, Adam nailed the vocals on uptempo FYE!! So happy for him! Such a difficult song to sing, especially the high energy version. Yay!!

Thanks for the video, mj, and for all the pics, everyone. Too much fun!

  24. btw its hilarious to compare this video to some of the others on this site…..this guy came from american idol? lol

Yes! Check out the twitpic of Danny in the headlines thread where he is sitting on a stool at his Milwaukee concert tonight. You’ll note that he does not appear to be wearing a codpiece …

  25. the video is still not working :( watch it strt to work when this thread dies :)

Sorry luv…I didn’t put a note on the twitpic for you!

haha that’s ok,besides Adam and innapropriate go hand in hand ;)
I’m SO EXCITED for when Adam goes to the UK (for no reason except I obsess over brits and their accents :))
karenw (you’re in the UK,right?) are you going to any promo appearences/concerts there? (I’m a bad fan I forget in he’s performing in the uk)

  26. Yes! Check out the twitpic of Danny in the headlines thread where he is sitting on a stool at his Milwaukee concert tonight. You’ll note that he does not appear to be wearing a codpiece …

I bet he is … only under his trousers instead of ontop of his tights

  27. Great picture you chose mj!

Yes! Check out the twitpic of Danny in the headlines thread where he is sitting on a stool at his Milwaukee concert tonight. You’ll note that he does not appear to be wearing a codpiece …

I did not need Danny and codpiece in the same sentence to kill my flailing, lol

Damn Adam, dat ass. Good vocals too (I didn’t want to see shallow, lol)

  28. karenw (you’re in the UK,right?) are you going to any promo appearences/concerts there? (I’m a bad fan I forget in he’s performing in the uk)

I’m not sure what he’s doing in the UK yet luv, there’s talk of some radio and perhaps TV on his first visit when he comes on 18 March but nothing about public appearances as yet .. he’s coming back again in April apparently (and that’s when the single’s due to be released with the album a week or so later so if there are any signings it probably won’t be until then.

According to his publicists on twitter it seems that they may be working on some performance type appearances but nothing seems to be certain yet .. I would love to go to something if I can but real life may get in the way unfortunately … but rest assured that us peeps in the UK will keep you all informed of stuff in the media and provide links when we can :-) .. we can’t do any less considering all the stuff you guys have provided us with .. lol

  29. oh, my, lord, I LOVED IT, and what makes it even more fabulous is the comments here :D
    thanks MJ :)

  30. Wild! This is what he should have done at AMA. Leaving dancing to dancers and just sing. He sounded a lot better, and this was great!
It was pretty funny with the hand of gold angel when he walked towards the left side. Hmmm, yes, it looks like it is holding up, ahen… What an entertainment :D
I am glad that he wasn’t wearing this at Indio when I was with my 14 years old, though. I was nervous going to a non-televised concert. I wish he labels his concert PG-13, G, R, so that I can decide who I can take with me :D

  31. from a blogger AW79

Following the show we returned to the Horden then back to the RHI for the last couple of hours before seeing Adam Lambert perform at the 8am show. Fierce doesn’t begin to describe him. He was great and although the energy of the party had died, along with the vast majority of the crowd (I’d say that less than 10% had stuck around until 8am) he didn’t let that stop him from making his performance any less spectacular than the earlier ones. He looked and sounded incredible, and as with everyone else was genuinely happy to be performing.

  32. I just cannot stop laughing reading the comments lololol
I totally agree that the AMA performance would have been soooo much better if he did not have to run up and down the stage, but the KISS must stay – it was epic :)

  33. OMG this is so epic. Thank you MJ for posting. My daughter’s (18 year old)attention was totally on his ass – LOL, and my husband even stopped and watched. His comment, he’s like Bowie isn’t he? Yay, I might make a fan out of him yet :)

  34. I wonder if Gokey will copy Adam’s Mardi Gras outfit. We remember how he loved to copy Adam!!!!!! LOL

  35. This was so great. Thanks, mj.

The lead singer from the group Cameo who sang “Word Up” would be proud! He still wears his red codpiece on tour I believe.

  36. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this and I have yet to notice his boots!!! Is he wearing shoes? My eyes seem to wander.

  37. but the KISS must stay – it was epic

nah ..he doesn’t need to do that anymore .. it was so last year dahling .. been there, done that, got the t-shirt .. it would be way too predictable for Adam to have kissed someone tonight .. lol

  38. this is so epic, I wonder if AI will show this in their promos for the new season ;)

  39. maybe I can watch it on my computer if im discreet and shit

What do you search on youtube for this?

I tried all the obvious ones and didn’t find it….

  40. wow, I wonder if this was what Randy had in mind when he said: I think it’s perhaps time for someone like you” lol

  41. Blue hair w glitter, blue shinny tights w glitter codpiece, silver boots, bare chest open jacket -lots of sparkle. I wish I could see him up close, live, in this outfit-definitely Glam Rock Sex God and sounding like it too. Don’t know how he hit those notes, but he did.

  42. Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment Sydney Madri Gras—-That is how this video is listed on youtube. Enjoy.

  43. Fabulous performance!! I loved every minute.
The guy is absolutely incredible. One minute he is performing the National Anthem for Steven Spielberg, the next he is doing the Mardi Gras in Sydney. Who does this????
    Adam Lambert, that’s who!!!

  44. So agree….within one week..Sleepwalker epic on Leno and now FYE. My 2 favorite songs on the album! This man has got to make a live album. I’ve turned on people to his live performances instead of the album.

Funny, today I went to the mall and there’s a music store called FYE!
Maybe it’s a chain? 2 weeks ago there were no Adam albums, today there were 8. So maybe stores are re-stocking now.

  45. Shoot can’t get the video to work w/ my phone yet. But looking at the pictures I have to call out Adam as a lier. Cuz there is no way I am believing he doesn’t work out. How can you have an a$$ like that and not work out. I say lier lier tights on fire:P

It’s all the drops he does while performing Strut…

  47. Umm…. Wow.

I agree that I wish he had done something more like this at the AMAs, just sang and let the dancers dance, his voice sounded incredible in this. Wow.

I didn’t think it was possible, but I think his voice sounds even better now than it was when he was on Idol. Much more smoothed out and controled or something. He was amazing before and even more amazing now.

    Umm… Wow again….

  48. love Adam, but this song is SOOO lame! the lady gaga song would be much better here. he killed himself by always choosing to sing this song rather than his better ones!

    Umm… Wow again….

You are right, he learned a lot in the last year and esp during the tour, and even since Gridlock. He has better control of his vocals, knows how to pace himself for a concert and how much he can move around during certain songs so as not to take away from the breathe control for the riffs, etc. He just keeps getting betterer and betterer.

  50. His hair is sparkly :)

    BEST FYE EVER!!!!!!!!!! :D
OMA THIS IS AN UNF$&KIBG BELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! OMA!!!!!!!!

love Adam, but this song is SOOO lame! the lady gaga song would be much better here. he killed himself by always choosing to sing this song rather than his better ones!

He had to perform without a band, this song makes the most sense to perform with just a backing track.

  52. Sorry not my cup of tea and he should know this will be all over the internet within 24 hours, and that is not a good thing. Which means, stupid Danny Gokey is going to continue his rise, outsell Adam, gain more middle of the road fans, and laugh all the way to the bank while Adam ruins his career with this stuff

  53. Yes, Adam holds the top ten spots on Japans Amazon music, yes top ten spots. Yea

Adam was fantastic tonight. International star as Simon so stated.

  54. You also have to remeber that FYE is charting all over the place so it also makes sence to perform it. Lol there is a top 20 count down in japan I think and FYE is # 2 and WWFM is #1, how awesome is that.

Adam’s performance was tame compared to everyone else at MG, and the whole world knows what goes on at MG except for maybe this backward assed country we live in. He did not interact with anyone, did nothing to shock, and delivered great vocals.

  56. Damn right it will be all over the net and a top viewed video in alot of countries. The world is alot bigger than just the USA. Music has become so bland since I was a kid. MJ wore a codpiece, WTF is the big deal with wearing one now???

  57. Every time Adam goes a little OTT he gets more popular. That will be the case here. people talk about him because he is INTERESTING.

Admittedly FYE isn’t my favorite on the CD either, BUT, international fans are loving it, so I say work it Adam!! (And when I say it isn’t my favorite, I still like it…I just like some others a little more.) :)

I vote for ditching the demin for good. Dude’s been holding out on us! Where did that ass come from? Wowzers.

  59. In the past week we’ve gotten broken open live, Acoustic WLL, rocking Sleepwalker and now this! The guy is frigging amazing!!

Not a damn thing – the 70s and 80s are like a distant dream and I really don’t know where the hell I was when this country got so backwards and regressed to the 1800s. This performance was nothing compared to Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, or even Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert where the lead singer strips down to only a sock over his ummm well you can guess…

Nah, I really don’t agree. With the exception of his more revealing outfit–which, IMO, fit this occasion perfectly–this performance was more tame than some of his dance moves during the Idol tour.

  62. .while Adam ruins his career with this stuff

    .

This is part of who Adam is. It’s his life and career.

It’s a big world out there. Some love it, some don’t. He knows that.

  63. Richelle
This isn’t anything he hasn’t done before except its at a event celabrating gay/lesbian/transgender. It is nothing new and the only people he “would lose as ans” are people that don’t like him anyway. Groups in america are the ones that freak out the rest of the world seems to care a whole lot less. And if this gturns you off from Adam he has said it before. He isn’t for everyone, go buy that guys album. He is comfortable with who he is let’s celabrate that and enjoy his music.

  64. Ummm, I don’t care how well Danny sells and how he is laughing to the bank. Do not care. It has nothing to do with Adam.

Dayum! That boy has the dong and the arse! I laugh so hard watching the video. It’s supposed to be crazy and wild! Thanks again Adam, really, I am really entertained.

BTW, I heard WWFM a couple times while driving today. Our boy is doing awesome!

Did I miss something shocking? Just looks like Adam rocking FYE in a sexy extra terrestrial outfit adorned with codpiece and spikes. And an ass I wanna bounce some coinage off of. Sounds like win win to me.

  66. Did I miss something shocking? Just looks like Adam rocking FYE in a sexy extra terrestrial outfit adorned with codpiece and spikes. And an ass I wanna bounce some coinage off of. Sounds like win win to me.

Exactly, we saw a lot more sexual dancing from Adam during the AI tour than in this performance. And he looked alpha fierce and hot.

  67. I have to borrow cakeygirl’s picture from headlines..

    http://twitpic.com/16v2gs

When you are at this festival, you do not wear a tshirt and jeans to perform. And I love him for embracing himself. If RCA thought this was an issue, they would not have booked the gig. There is a whole world out there and sometimes I wonder if it’s going to be the US that will be missing out the most in the career of Adam Lambert. There’s nothing even scandalous here, he’s not touching anyone. (Boo..)

Aren’t these the pre-idol spandex from kiss and tell? The boy know how to recycle his wardrobe.

  68. he should know this will be all over the internet within 24 hours

    I sure hope so!
In my opinion, everyone needs to experience Adam’s out-of-this-world vocals and fabulous stage presence. He delivered big time on both counts in Sydney! :)

  69. SparklesATL I did not mention homosexuality at all, and the US was a helluva lot more accepting of sexuality and dressing differently in the 70s and 80s than now. Adam was in spandex, just like metal singers in the 80s, what is so upsetting now that was not upsetting then??? MJ wore a codpiece in the 80s, why so shocking now??? That is what I am referring to.

Maybe the fact that all of that happened at concerts, without personal video cameras, without youtube, without twitter, etc. kept it underground. These days artists can’t sneeze without the whole world knowing about it, and everybody has an opinion that takes two seconds to post to the world. This in NO way excuses the US from being so backwards though. I wouldn’t blame Adam if he moved out of the US one day. He’s clearly in his element right now.

On a different note: Richelle Re: Gokey outselling Adam….I guess I’d wait for his first week sales numbers before making a statement like that. The bar has been set at 200,000….good luck.

  71. Believe me the way Adam looked & performed was very tame compared to a lot of other people involved in the Gay Mardi Gras here!! [ This is a small minority of Sydneyites that take part though!!]
Don’t think it would gain him any new “mainstream” fans but Adam probably doesn’t care who his fans are as long as they like his music!!
The reason I was confused with this being this weekend – as the whole “Mardi Gras” was meant to finish last weekend but they double booked a venue so they shifted it to this weekend- lucky Adam was still available!!

  72. I think it was a great performance for the ocassion. Adam is the best… I hope his album sales go up in the future, his last single is amazing…

  73. I’m not bothered by his OTTness or sexuality or anything. It’s not a matter of prudeness or homophobia or whatever, it’s just a matter of personal taste. I really LOOOVED his voice and delivery in some songs during Idol. I also think he can look really handsome sometimes. So I’m kind of sad that I haven’t heard (or seen) anything I can actually like since his album came out. I still am interested in his career, but to be truthful, most of his appearances have me wincing and leaving before the 1 minute mark. That said, I’m glad he gets to do the stuff he likes and that some people like it.

    …………………..
Well, I need something stronger than tea! Yes, it will get a LOT of hits on the internet. But, mostly for being a good sport, and entertaining the tribal spirit, of this annual ritual event.
Adam the Lion Heart, whose is brave, and fierce. Adam looks like a futuristic knight, absent some of his amour, but the family jewels are well protected!

  75. Adam doesn’t hold the top 10 spots on japan amazon. That is just a search result for his name, not the bestseller list.

  76. The strange thing about that adamland is that the people freaking out and having heart attacks about it are the people who GREW UP in the 70’s!

Not the way I see it, to me it is more the ones who were born in the late 70s and early 80s who seem to freak out over the makeup and clothes Adam wears. Weird. I saw all of this before, nothing new to me only that it has been since the early 90s when to me music and performers morphed into some time warp of boring crap.

  77. I have a question. Didn’t Mardi Gras happen a lot earlier in the US? I don’t get that.

I also have a statement. They sure seemed to show a lot more of the risque dancers. Adam was tame.

    Also, Adam sounded great!

  78. Broken Open was a stunning vocal!!! And this was a great performance!!! Two completely different sides of Adam!!!

My comment about the world bigger than USA was about his outfit not his sexuality.

  79. iluvai:
    03/06/2010 at 11:56 pm

There is something weird going on with this thread. :(

Then lets change it, Adam looked fierce, loved the spandex outfit and the vocals were stellar. It’s all good. Watch out Japan!

  80. Back on topic….peeps at IDF have compared these boots to the Kiss and Tell boots and they appear to be the same ones, just bejeweled up now. Where is he storing all of his clothes? There has to be a rental storage unit somewhere that’s stacked to the ceiling.

  81. Just got up to see this:

    VOCALS WERE IMMACULATE!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!
    Best rendition of FYE yet!!!

    and also:

OMG- his ASS!!!!! I want it, lol!!!!!

  82. 3DoorsDownFan:
    03/06/2010 at 11:57 pm

Wow this was just bad! What in the world is he wearing? This really just makes me sad. What has happened to music?

Spandex/latex – worn by all metal bands in the 80s

Codpiece – worn by Michael Jackson in the 80s

    Music is finally fun again!

Oh and if this video freaks peeps out, then definitely skip George Michael’s performance!

  83. back on track…ahhh…

I’ve been waiting for a performance like this from Adam. Fierce!

I love to see him doing things his way. *hearts* and he must have had a storage unit for clothes in LA, he holds on to everything and recycles! who says he’s blowing RCA’s budget, lol

  84. I can’t wipe the grin off my face!!!! He looked so happy after!!!

Mj thanks for the great picture!!! It took a while but this video was definately worth the wait!!!

  85. What has happened to music?

Adam made it his bitch! :)

When did this idea that the US is a backwards country bumpkin when it comes to sexuality? I’ve traveled extensively in Europe and have good friends all over and there’s not a great embracing of homosexuality like everyone seems to think there is.

There was a same-sex partner dance while Adam was singing on SYTYCD. Also, a news station that interviewed Adam didn’t blur out the “offensive moves” from the AMAs. In fact, the interviewer didn’t blink an eye over the “offensive parts”. The interviews from Canada and Australia have had a more relaxed and liberal feel.
I have many friends and relatives who have lived in Europe and they would disagree with you. Other posters who live in Europe have repeatedly said things like the use of “he” in a song by a male wouldn’t even be questioned there.
You may feel that Europe is as conservative as the US, but there are many posters who have different observations from their time spent there.

  86. Hmmm I guess there is an audience out there for everyone. Personally I don’t need a halloween costume and distractions to find music fun. I guess call me boring but I like serious musicians whose talents speak for themselves. Every concert I have been to (without the circus) has been an amazing time…Matt, 3 Doors Down/Staind, Billy Joel, etc all incredible shows. I just think Adam makes a mockery of music and I find him offensive and I never liked Michael Jackson or 80’s metal bands either. But I guess life would be boring if everyone liked the same things. I just wish talent would be showcased more rather than who can be the biggest freak. I miss when you could turn on the radio and hear real music with real instruments, and without autotune. No I’m not saying Adam needs autotune but now a days so many of our so called artists on the radio do.

  87. Haha you guys do remember the AI finale wher Gene Simmons wazs wearing spandex a nd a scaled codpiece right???? Lol people are so funny. WERK ADAM WE LOVE YOU!

  88. I guess a good singer is now determined by what someone wears and every performance fits every venue. Like he should have appeared Perry Como style for Australia’s Mardi Gras. That’s pretty laughable. Nothing has happened to music at all.

ETA: you go to church to hear a choir, you go to Mardi Gras to get your freak on and it doesn’t matter what sex or gender you are. So this ain’t no hedonistic gay shit, it’s just getting your party on. One size does not fit all, as Adam proved with that codpiece, :)

  89. Adam’s just being Adam, and good for him. I challenge the “he’s only acting, not being real, such a poser” crowd to speak now or forever hold your peace. ;-)

And Adamland, you’re absolutely right about how the US has regressed from liberalizing in the 60s, 70s, to conservative (ultraconservative) in the 80s and beyond. I blame Reagan. :-) Seriously, the shift is well documented and accepted historically at this point. Personally, I hope it becomes history soon!

But enough of that boring stuff, back to the glitter and dazzle and MUSIC!!

  90. Adamland: I just erased my post to you. It all gets confusing while blogging. I’m a big Adam fan and I thought some posters were being less than kind. I was just trying to point that out to MJ. Oh well….

    :)

  91. I like Adam’s music! And I’m loving Voodoo

There is context for this kind of outfit at this festival. Just as the feathers worked in Indio, this works for Mardi Gras. The next show will have another outfit, in context.

I saw Elton John in Vegas and he had big blowup boobs, lol

You are of course welcome to your opinion as are we who appreciate Adam. I personally like to be entertained and I love it when a performer “puts on a show.” Adam isn’t the first to do this and this year Pink joined the great entertainers in “putting on a show.” So according to your criteria Pink, Christina Aguillera, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Elton John Queen/Freddie Mercury and many many more all have made music a mockery? They along with Adam are all great live visual artists and fantastic vocalists.

There are a lot of singers who just stand on stage and strum a guitar whose vocals on their albums are autotuned up the wazoo.

Being theatrical is not a bad thing. Just difference in tastes.

  93. I love a singer who can sit down and deliver the goods acoustically and then dress up to the nines, camp it up on stage and deliver an equally great vocal and performance.

Bowie and Mercury did it in the past … so I don’t see why Adam can’t be just as entertaining vocally and performance wise. I appreciate his versatility to be able to do both equally as well

obviously he’s not going to be to everyone’s taste but just because you give showy performances doesn’t necessarily mean you are any less of a singer than someone who’s performance is more static with less fireworks

Shoot can’t get the video to work w/ my phone yet. But looking at the pictures I have to call out Adam as a lier. Cuz there is no way I am believing he doesn’t work out. How can you have an a$$ like that and not work out. I say lier lier tights on fire:P

Oh smeggingnuts- I’m sure he works out… but in funner ways than you were reffering to… ;-)

  95. I don’t like the look at all, but it is Adam and good for him doing what he wants. His vocals were great. Personally I think Adam has made mistake after mistake. But that would be if he were trying to be a huge mainstream pop artist. But I think he’s doing what he wants and is doing well enough. Ditto for Kris and Allison. Sounds like Danny is happy doing what he wants and will do well enough also.

I don’t get why he doesn’t do Fever though. Adam has such amazing vocals and I’m always intrigued. But I don’t like everything he does but if I did he wouldn’t be Adam!!

  96. Ugh, to the boxes we feel it necessary to put people in. Super-sized UGH when we do it to artists, musicians, performers. Blech.

    Adam Lambert – HitFm Top20 Countdown WWFM No.1 (1st week) and FYE No.2 (8th week) (2010-03-06).

    in a few.

  99. Mistakes? Yeah, maybe some. But I do like he’s staying true to himself. I don’t know if he’ll ever be mainstream but I can see him getting a pretty large following of passionate fans who appreciate his art and will continue to see him live. I do think the next album (fingers crossed) will be even more in the vein of the bonus tracks, which are the best ones. I really like the tracks he’s written on.

Creative people march to a different drum than most, Adam is just strutting to a whole marching band!

  100. Every concert I have been to (without the circus) has been an amazing time, etc all incredible shows. I agree- Life would be boring if everyone liked the same thing. If you enjoy people like Matt, 3 Doors Down/Staind, Billy Joel, etc., then by all means, support them. Some would find them boring as dirt.(myself included)
MJ had sold out 50 concerts in London before his shocking death. I guess there were some people that thought he was a talented singer who could put on an amazing show. There are millions of music fans who enjoyed concerts by artists like MJ, Queen or Prince.
Just because some don’t enjoy Lady Gaga or the BEPs doesn’t mean their performances are a freak show. I hear Pink and Beyonce have quite the stage show also. There are a whole lot of tickets being sold to these “circus shows”.
I would love to attend an Adam, Gaga , BEP, Pink, or Beyonce concert! I wouldn’t go to a 3 Doors Down or Staind concert if you gave me a ticket.

Seriously-We are not still comparing Adam to Danny and many times Kris!!! Both Danny and Kris are great singers and have their following and hopefully will do very well, but Adam is in a league of his own. Why do you think RCA, experts in the music business, are promoting him worldwide, because they have an international star in the making. He is an incredible performer, never the same twice, has been on multiple TV shows, has a gold record in two countries and is taking Australia and Japan by storm, wait till he gets to the UK!! This is just the beginning. No one can match him vocally or in musical interpretation of songs. Just when we think we’ve heard it all he comes up with something new ie. acoustic WWL. That’s not even to mention that he has had multiple magazine photo shoots, because when Adam is featured the magazine has the best sales for any issue. He’s drop dead gorgeous So,I don’t think that Adam wearing a great “costume” for an appearance is going to ruin his career, are you kidding? Darn right it’s going to be all over the internet, because people can’t get enough of him. But besides being an incredible singer, the one common thread that continues to emerge based on countless interviewers is that Adam is a great person, polite, appreciative, honest and sweet. Sorry to ramble on but comments like this one craze me and those who say they have not heard anything great since idol, please- listen to all the great videos mj has posted especially the acoustic performances, they are stunning. And if this isn’t enough, the man has the best a$$ and thighs I’ve ever seen!!!!

Yes, yes yes, I totally agree with you.

Personally I don’t need a halloween costume and distractions to find music fun.

Remember, this was not just any concert…this was the gay/lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney. I Googled it and this event has some interesting history and the parade last weekend and this afterparty are celebrating the gay/lesbian community. Even traditional Mardi Gras is all about OTT behavior.

Check out http://www.mardigras.org.au/mardi-gras-2010/index.cfm and for more info.

  104. I find it amazing how no matter what Adam does he gets such polarized reactions. I guess everyone want a piece of him but he refuses to be defined and boxed in as one thing. I guess this must be hard for some people that are used to conformity. Entertainment really has become very plain white bread. It a shame the it has become/percieve that to be successfull one must be like everyone else. It is way to early in Adam’s new role as a pop singer to say if he has “ruined” it or it he can or can’t be main stream pop artist.
Why don’t we all just enjoy the ride Adam is on. Take the pieces you like. If you like his vocals only listen to his cd. If you think its over produced go see a concert. If you like it all well you know what to do. Me I know what piece I want ……THAT A$$!!! *cough* hehe sorry but seriously he should never where denim again.

  105. Adam Lambert live is Adam at this best. He loves the audience and they love him. He does approach music differently than most musicians. He is all about the show. His voice is beyond compare and the visuals he offers up make each interpretation of a song unique and completely entertaining. I loved Adam in the Zodiac Show and this performance was very similar to those amazing performances. He could stand there and sing those songs and he would sing them better than anyone on the music scene today, but he wants to entertain both sonically and visually. The show in Australia was dazzling and his voice never sounded better. YOU DO SO ROCK ADAM.

  106. It’s funny how Adam can’t be a versatile performer. Last month he did two separate unplugged, acoustic sets. No props, no pyro, no costumes. Then this week he goes to Mardi Gras and all of a sudden his talent is gone? At the end of the day it’s the same dude who did Tracks of My Tears and Mad World. So if he puts some spikes on or some glitter and a cod piece that disappears? I understand that not everyone likes all of his OTT performances, (I don’t either fwiw) that’s ok, but to henceforth deem him a talentless hack is a bit of a stretch.

I don’t give a shit who sells out to sell, I have been so proud of Adam since he didn’t sell himself out for fame. To watch him live proudly and loudly is just icing on a very sexy and talented cake.

  107. Adam’s just being Adam, and good for him. I challenge the “he’s only acting, not being real, such a poser” crowd to speak now or forever hold your peace. ;-)

Hi! Adam’s performance TO ME of course as always, came across….cheesy. I love a really crazy out there performance when it feels authentic, whether it is Prince or Lady Gaga or Peaches or whoever. Adam just comes across as playing a part, although he is quite the actor in that part. It is just hard to believe when he was most recently on Leno singing a Ryan Tedder power ballad..Not to a say either performances are better than the other, I just believe the disconnect between the two is greater than mere eclecticism.

  108. Just now joining the party. That performance was indeed… ahem… entertaining. :-) Loved it. The vocals were spot on; the outfit was dazzling. And Adam himself? Geez looweez Adam, have mercy on us, will ya?

You know, I can just picture Adam packing his suitcase(s) for this trip… Tights, check. Spiked jacket, check. Codpiece, check. Skinny jeans, check. Sparkly jacket, check. Studded leather jacket, check… Can you imagine how many suitcases he must have needed in order to bring all these different outfits for all of his appearances?

  109. limi, I dropped by to see what everyone thought of Adam’s performance and your post, is a DOUBLE DITTO, for me!!!!!!!! Just had to log on to tell you that. I hope Adam never conforms or lets anyone change him, I am a huge fan, but, quite frankly I would be very proud of him if he were my son!

  110. You know, I can just picture Adam packing his suitcase(s) for this trip… Tights, check. Spiked jacket, check. Codpiece, check. Skinny jeans, check. Sparkly jacket, check. Adam has many sides. He likes to mix it up — sometimes he’s costumed, sometimes not. If you don’t like his more OTT looks, fine — to each his own. However, before you write him off as someone who “makes a mockery out of music”, I suggest that you take a look at his AOL sessions, the iheartradio performance, and the upcoming Vh1 Unplugged (airing 3/10). Also, you might want to check out his appearances on The Early Show, David Letterman, The View, and Ellen. No Halloween costumes in sight, just a damn good singer.

Also, I suggest you take a look at some video from the 70’s. Elton John, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and many others wore some pretty outrageous stuff back in the day. And I don’t think anyone thinks that they were making a mockery out of music. They were making great music, but they were having fun, too.

  112. I think people give Adam way too much credit in his acting abilities, lol…

I think he does feel every performance, whether it’s WLL, Mardi Gras or Tracks of My Tears. Nobody can be ‘on’ as an act that much, I think it’s just different sides and parts of him. And it’s all still Adam. Have you seen his performance in Wicked? There’s a reason he wasn’t being promoted. He’s one of the cutest and well-sung Fiyeros I’ve ever seen, but the acting? not so much, lol He’s even said acting was his weakness.

Maybe being so versatile is a hinderance as well as an asset. I’ve read many a comment that people don’t get him because he’s all over the place and therefore not real. I don’t understand why it’s a weakness and why he should narrow focus.

  113. I am so happy that Adam is being true to himself. The good thing about Adam is that he keeps people guessing. I just love it. What he wore to Madri Gras was hot!! And so him. Personally, I don’t understand any mistake in what he was doing. He is really effing sexy!!! Dayum!!! I Bravo Adam! You Rawk!!

Thank you Australia for loving Adam. So happy with how the international community is loving him.

  114. Sr4mjc, good point
In themaking of the WWFM video he even talks about them bringing in an acting coach for him.

  115. I have no vocabulary for what my eyes just witnessed. I prefer Adam a bit more tamed. Its a good think hes versatile and not just this all the time.

  116. 3doorsdownfan maybe you should check out non-ott Adam (ye that does exist) . It seriously beats out more “serious” musicians.Speaking of Adam not being about the music is ridiculous,he’s the #2 best rock vocalist ever and he can sing leaps and bounds around anyone. He diesnt have to be strapped to a stool with a guitar to perform, then what’s the point of a live concert? You might as well sit at home and watch youtubes.Adam’s electrifying when he performs and his costume are like the unique thing he brings. It’s so much fun to guess what he’s wearing what he’s doing etc. That’s why tere are hundreds of comment (usually, sometimes even thousands) every time he performs. He’s interesting.-he can be a true musician. And Kris,or other “serious musicians”(I love a lot of them) are waaaay more top 40 than Adam plus keep in mind this is a gay mardi gras-it’s like a crime to not be ott.

I’m not trying to make you like him,but maybe if you saw just a little bit of what I see you’ll at least appreciate him

  117. I have no vocabulary for what my eyes just witnessed. I prefer Adam a bit more tamed. Its a good think hes versatile and not just this all the time.

If this burned your retinas and left you speechless, for heaven’s sake, don’t watch any of Adam’s performances from the Zodiac Club, or you may be blind and mute for life!!This was actually very tame….just a bunch of pelvic thrusts and lots of fun dancers. He did way more suggestive dancing on the AI tour this summer. And of course, he isn’t going to wear spikes, spandex and codpieces all the time, but man, he’s is the man to do so!!!

I DO have the vocab…HAWT! Excellent vocals. Fun. Perfectly harmless and oh, so totally him!!!

  118. @cayman @ limi – ditto!!! A definite yes to Adam not conforming. We have so many artists already doing that, we don’t need one more. On to the next country!!!

@Abbysee – Adam is one of a kind, he can switch formats (pop, rock, ballad) and nail every song. Pure awesome talent. Plus has a very good heart!!! And a definite no to being box in.

  119. I’m still cracking up at the pre-idol wardrobe recycling. I can picture the meeting with the stylist. Adam – ‘no, you don’t have to buy me any new pants,I have the perfect spandex already and we can bedazzle my old boots. It’ll be perfect!’

  120. Hey maybe we should back to what’s important

    THAT A$$!!!!

    Just saying:)

  121. People complaining… you have to understand the context in which this performance was in. Adam was performing at the gay and lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney. It is famous for outrageous outfits and expression. If the camera had been pointed out towards the audience, you probably would have seen people glammed up and dressed OTT just as much as Adam was!
Adam is a true performer who understands his audience and plays to what they want. He wore that to embrace the Mardi Gras spirit and have a blast with FYE. It doesn’t mean he is going to wear that every time he performs (although I wouldn’t mind it…his booty looks fantastic in those pants. lol).

I think you are confusing real talent with one trick ponies. Adam can do both the OTT, costume, laser, dancers, full on make up type of show or the Band with the amazing singer front man. Three Doors down can’t. I saw Billy Joel with Elton John and I am telling you that there were plenty of distraction and costumes at the concert and the talent showed through. Talent shows through no matter what someone does. IMHO I personally think 3 doors downs sound like many average bands out today. The lead singer has a monotone voice and does not have a good range. Most of their songs all sound alike or sound like some of the other boring groups out their.

Just so you know Led Zeppelin Rolling Stones and The Who were all about the music yet had explosion Pyrotechnics and antics all over the stage that believe me were distracting. To me 3 Doors Down is offensive, because they lake originality and are not imaginative enough. But a lot a people like boring unimaginative bands. Look at radio today. I’ll keep Adam on my Ipod. I rather have someone who thinks outside the boring box and who gives 100 percent of himself. Who can sing anything and not sound repetitive or like everyone else. His talent is so undeniable nothing can detract or stifle it.

I hope you continue to enjoy your 3 Doors Down I know I will be enjoying Adam voice and music and costumes (if he decides that is what he wants to do for a particular performance) for many many years to come. :-)

  123. So funny to see people’s reaction to this. All I can say is, avoid drag shows and any pride performances if this really bothered you, cause let me tell you, this was tame. I can guarantee you that the other performances were much more provocative than that. lol

As far as theatrical performances destroying music, please, opera has already been there and done that. Personally, I would hardly state that opera singers are talentless hacks relying on too much makeup, props and effects. Theatrics and music have always gone hand in hand.

Sitting on a chair or standing still neither adds nor enhances singing or it’s appreciation. It’s all merely different ways of experiencing, and not everyone gets the same out of each way.

  124. I think Adam’s versatility will continue to be a double-edged sword for him. For those who like all or most of what he does, his versatility is what makes him so fascinating. For me he is like a 3-D movie compared to a 2-D movie. His music is great but there is so much more to him.

However, for all those who only like one or two of his musical “styles” then they will be unhappy with him every time he does one of his other styles.

If a performer sticks with one or two styles then their fan base consists of people who like those styles and they know if they buy that guy’s album exactly what style they are getting. If they want to listen to a different style they pick a different artist. In Adam’s case he is both interested and capable of performing a wide range of musical styles. The portion of his fan base that only likes a certain subset of his musical styles is forever telling him he’s doing it wrong when he does something that isn’t their taste. So what I’m trying to say is his versatility also sets him up for a lot of criticism.

I think he should continue doing exactly what he’s doing… mixing it up and doing what he loves. Financial success will be meaningless if he’s not making the type of art he enjoys making. Eventually people will get used to it and come to expect it. Nobody put BB in a box.

  125. Well, I’m glad he wasn’t dressed like that at Fantasy Springs, my husband would have been very unhappy! It’s the thingie over his thingie (cod piece???) that would have been too much for my husband, and to tell you the truth I’m not lovin’ it either! Well, that’s Adam, love him or leave him.

  126. Personally, I’m waiting with interest the American media reaction.

Not sure there will be any. A picture in People or Us maybe or maybe a few blogs might pick it up, but I don’t think it will hit the radar because there was nothing scandalous about it, especially given the context.

If this is the news in a negative light, I will be convinced of a witchhunt! LOL! Pelvic thrusting was a performance specialty of one Michael Jackson was it not? LOL!

  127. To be honest, I really don’t see him dressing like this outside of a similar event. Not to say he won’t be ott, just in different ways. The spandex pants and codpiece fit for a venue like this or, say, the Zodiac/burning man events. Not so much casino or clubs. lol

  128. “cwm: You know, I can just picture Adam packing his suitcase(s) for this trip… Tights, check. Spiked jacket, check. Codpiece, check. Skinny jeans, check. Sparkly jacket, check. OMG, tiger92– now there’s an image! LOL! With all of those spikes and studs, the baggage screeners probably had alarm bells going off. And then when the security guys actually searched the luggage and came upon all of Adam’s glittery and spikey fabulousity, they were looking at each other, saying “What the…?”

Well that just it Revcat he wouldn’t dress like this at Fantasy Springs because it was a different type of show. He knew who was going to be in the audience. Adam wants to please his audience and he is not going to do or wear something that he would for one group that another will find offensive. He learned that from his AMA performance. This performance as a lot of people have pointed out was not televised and it was for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras that has performances that are OTT. If you saw the George Michael performance Adam’s was tame. I don’t see anything offensive it what he did or that has not been done by either MJ or Justin Timberlake or every rapper or hip hop performer. (Grabbing of his crotch) Really his out fit was sort of a modified improved Kiss outfit. Don’t worry Hubby won’t have to see this type of performance unless you guys happen to be in Sydney next year for Mardi Gras. Otherwise your safe. :-)

  134. Great performance! Adam seems to always know what will work for whatever venue he is playing. Love the Zodiac-ess vibs that went with this performance. His vocals were spot on AMAZING! Nobody out there now can sing like him and very few have his command of the stage and our undivided attention!! And he is just starting out in this journey. I can only imagine what amazing performances and celebrations on stage we have to look forward to in the future!!

Keep staying out side that boring BOX, Adam and spread the joy of performing throughout the glittery universe!! Adam was definitely born to perform! I love this man’s talent!

I read an article today (can’t remember where) and the author said…Adam Lambert is the present and future Bowie of this generation. That pretty much summmed it up for me and made my day!

  135. Wow, this is Mardi Gras people… The trick is to wear outrageous clothes,or maybe wear less clothes :p Spandex and leather is a must, the shorter the better! My friend just sent me some pictures with him and the boys wearing short spandex only, some combine it with a tie, or a cowboy hat, or a shawl, or some glitter on hehe
It’s not halloween costume, it’s Mardi Gras… Adam dress up for the occasion, I really don’t think it’s gonna be scandalous as this is a very normal view for a festival.

So feeling alittle slow what does IMHO mean.

IMHO= In My Humble Opinion. :-)

  137. BTW I have to agree that MJ finds the best pics of Adam to use as the Headline thread picture. I really like the one on this thread with him smiling. It says everything! Thanks MJ.

Thanks dhunken I was guessing I Must Have Overthetop…hehehe

lol I think I like your definition better!

  139. I Must Have Overthetop.

Hahahah…I like that. I like all of Adam, and tonight–shallow as I can be–I especially like Spandex Adam. Woo…quite the tail on the boy, IMHO (traditional)

  140. It’s very entertaining. Adam’s costume was OTT? I think it is quite “appropriate” at Mardi Gras. Besides he is a great singer, Adam artistically chooses his outfit as to song and audience in his own terms. I love to watch his performance and enjoy hilarious comments of posters.

  141. It seems like Adam was dressed in accordance with the event. Now if he would have looked like this while visiting that middle school… :)

  142. Well, I guess there is no question now that Adam is big “down under”.

  143. “Adam looks to have gained weight and wearing spandex isn’t his best look.”

You´ve got to be kidding me???!! Because that outfit leaves nothing to imagination and the only word that comes to my mind is: PERFECTION! Perfect ass, perfect thighs, perfect … everything!
ONTD_AI also has the video, and then they immediately made the gifs and the screencaps from the video, and there are people wanting to make a statue of Adam´s a$$!

    http://community.livejournal.com/ontd_ai/3765202.html?page=1#comments

  144. I personally was very pleased with Adam’s performance and outfit for Mardi Gras. He really did refocus after letting his adrenaline take over at the AMAs and is making good decisions in adjusting to the crowd at each performance now IMHO.

I can’t wait to see what he does in Japan, Singapore, the UK and other parts of Europe. Plus seeing and hearing about the reactions of people in each of those stops in his promo tour.

  145. ninah I so agree, he looked perfect in his outfit, perfect thighs and a$$, he looks a hella sexy and perfect.

  146. “Well, I guess there is no question now that Adam is big “down under”.” tiger92– you crack me up!!

And I agree BlueDiamond25 and stelladallas– Adam’s outfit was very fitting for the occasion. In more ways than one. heh.

jpfan, you just couldn’t resist could you? ;-) I beg to disagree with you. I agree with ninah– looks to me like Adam has a perfect bod. I wouldn’t change a thing.

So happy to see Adam having such a blast, and to see so many people appreciating his amazing talents and his dazzling assets. When he says that he’s here for our entertainment, he’s not kidding.

  147. Hey people! I looked up the event Adam just STARRED in. I hadn’t known about this before: “The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual gay pride parade and festival for the LGBT community and is the largest such event in the world. The parade features colourful costumes, gatherings, elaborate floats, etc.
The parade and dance party attract many international and domestic tourists. Mardi Gras is one of Australia’s biggest tourist drawcards each year.” Wow, I didn’t know all this. Now I realize what an honor it was for him to be a headliner and how much fun it must have been for him (and others) to wear that costume and sing FYE. Anyway, I don’t understand what some are complaining about. In the USA and Brazil the Mardi Gras is MUCH more risque and over the top than Adam’s mild “codthingie.” People oughta chill.

  148. After a few views of the video I was finally able to refocus my attention north of the waist, and I noticed that Adam was also rockin’ a very glittery corset. I don’t think that corset has gotten its proper due. Go Adam!

  149. Lol after watching it again mysef I have to say (I think its been said but) I am reaaly happy that at the end of that he was smiling. Cuz afterf the ama’s he didn’t. I am so glad he had fun, make me smile seeing him happy:)

  150. Never thought there’d be a situation in which Adam was the most conservatively/modestly dressed person on the stage. ;-p

Btw, how are folks getting their little avatar pics to show?

  151. REmusL, lol :)
as for avatars, there is a feature on MJ’s blog that allows you to do it, maybe look in tools or ask MJ, she published a link once to the avatar site….

  152. LOL, alxsavage. Too bad he didn’t have the time to rehearse with a
cohesive dance troupe. Nightmare versus Erotica!!

Adam was dressed perfectly and gorgeously for a Gay Pride headliner!
This is the audience he could have done the AMA performance without a blink from anyone down Under!!
I think the OZ is going to love him!

  153. Never thought there’d be a situation in which Adam was the most conservatively/modestly dressed person on the stage. ;-p

HAHAHAHAHAHA Gosh, he’s so much fun to follow! This was an over 18 Mardi Gras event. It wasn’t a family friendly event. I don’t think people have to worry Adam will wear that outfit when he returns to American Idol (not that I wouldn’t pay big bucks to witness that).

I love Adam’s “acts”. Just like when Beyonce has to put on Sasha Fierce when she goes out to perform. And what has happened to Music is that Adam has made me want to listen to music again!

FS Adam, Leno Adam, Mardi Gras Adam, and this week unplugged Adam. Unbelievable in the best way possible.

  154. I still can’t believe people are worked up (negatively) about his costume. THIS IS ADAM F****** LAMBERT! HELLO!!!

I thought he was beautiful and shiny and fierce, and is “halloween” really a put-down?? It’s the best holiday of the year (well for me it’s Purim, which was just recently and I dressed up as Lady Gaga and people were all excited about it- coming up to me and asking for my special GaGa glasses to get their pictures taken with, heheh…. but I digress)!!!

Adam Lambert- the beauty of Adam (on top of his out of this world voice)is his willing to play. And he’ll play anything that he fancies- and he’ll rock it, because he’s that talented. If that makes him an actor- then again- where is the put-down here??? I fail to see it!!!

In my job I can’t play dress up all year- so it’s fabulous to see someone who really really can! Don’t ever change, baby!

  155. While I’m snoozing through the current AI season, I’m reminded again that whatever you think of Adam’s performances, the man is NEVER boring. No wonder the tabloids and media love him. His cute little tush looks delicious in that spandex and it was only upon the 4th or 5th viewing of the video that I was able to tear my eyes away from the massive codpiece to appreciate all the glitter in his hair and the cock-rings hanging down his back. And his sweet smile at the end of those fierce performances is so endearing.

Mardi Gras is the one time of year that everyone has permission to go crazy. It’s a marvelously freeing and cathartic experience and I agree with others, that compared to the costumes I saw when I was visited the Trinidad and Rio Carnivals, this outfit is not outrageous. The negative comments must be from folks who have either never been to Mardi Gras/Carnival or are too uptight and conservative to get what it’s all about.

  156. “While I’m snoozing through the current AI season, I’m reminded again that whatever you think of Adam’s performances, the man is NEVER boring.”

Jurnee, you’re so right. Adam is never boring. Just like on idol, he never fails to surprise us. He dresses and performs to fit the song and occasion. Keeps us guessing. I can’t wait for his next performance. What’ll he sing and wear? That was a hawt performance and outfit at Mardi Gras.

  157. the best thing about him is that he can pull off any look, even most ridiculous one – he loves performing and it shows – he has the vocals and good looks for it – GO BB!!!!! He is fearless, that’s for sure :)

  158. Oh yeah- about the weight:

I wouldn’t throw him outta my bed!
(Although he’d probably throw me outta his, lol… don’t have the right equipment and all… :-D )

  159. mr, you are a naughty girl :)
but if we got him drunk enough, who knows? ;)

  160. ‘So Hot Out The Box Adam’ gets nine pages of comments and ‘Donor’s Choose’ Adam doesn’t. Sigh.. People love to have opinions when he colors outside the lines. Even the pulse board was quiet for a while and now the hate is rolling in.

I never did like the lines either.. I love your crazy ass Adam, keep on doing what you do! (I really meant I love your ass, keep wearing spandex)

  161. Just a comment to luvadamlambert.
Don’t worry Luv, you won’t have to. I suspect it is forever burned
upon a memory cell somewhere in “there”!!!
You are well on your way to becoming a well rounded, thoughtful, and
excellent human. I, for one, expect you to achieve wonderful things
    in your lifetime!

  162. Never knew what a Codpiece was,, would have thought it was something to do with a fish. Now I know what a Codpiece is. Do they come in sizes? Is his a X-Large? He sang the song best I have heard except for the CD. He was kinda pulled back except for a couple of pelvis thrusts. His performances at other shows were way more overthe top. He actually was over dressed for the occasion compared to everyone else. Just think if he came out with little on. It was what the occasion called for. Now if he shows up on the Idol stage like that—Whoa!!!
It just wasnt a place to go on and sit on a stool with a guitar and sing a ballad!

mr, you are a naughty girl
but if we got him drunk enough, who knows?

Haha- don’t worry, I’ve got it all figured out… I can lure him with my little brother who’s a very pretty boy (he would absolutely be appalled if he knew I was writing about him like this now… but he’s a poor student- so he’ll do it if I pay him enough…buwahaahhaha), and when he isn’t looking (and a few beverages in) we’ll switch places… he won’t have anywhere to run!!!
mj- you’re totally gonna erase this, aren’t you? But I had my fun just thinking about it :-)

I never did like the lines either.. I love your crazy ass Adam, keep on doing what you do! (I really meant I love your ass, keep wearing spandex)

    ROTFLMAO!!! I’m with you girl!

  164. is taking Australia and Japan by storm”

Well Limi I can’t say much for Japan but Australia- I think its more he’s taken the “gay”world of Australia by storm at the moment- remains to be seen if this lasts for long here!!
Oh & this Mardi Gras in Sydney has been around for about 25 years now , so its all a bit of a yawn for most Sydneysiders – the most excited are the ones from overseas who haven’t been to one before!!
As I said before- what Adam did in this context has all been done before – nothing new – so no “extra ” press here for that!!

By the way – just reminding you all that Adam will be on the morning show Sunrise – Sydney time 6-9 am Monday 8 March- probably will be on either close to 8 or 9am!! [ so about 4-5pm Sunday 7th NY time!!]

Never knew what a Codpiece was,, would have thought it was something to do with a fish. Now I know what a Codpiece is.

You bring up a very good point. The education I’ve received from Adam during this past year has been priceless! From cock rings to codpieces to the best makeup brands and application techniques. You just don’t pick up this shit in my little cowpoke town. So I guess we can add “educational” to his LONG list of assets. :)

  166. – I think its more he’s taken the “gay”world of Australia by storm at the moment- remains to be seen if this lasts for long here!!

It’s a start because even the gay world in the US hasn’t been too kind so far.

At least the lesbians at Autostraddle continue their love affair with Adam

    http://www.autostraddle.com/adam-lambert-mardi-gras-36161/

Realistically, Adam’s got a lot of people telling him what to do right now and someone said this was okay (which is a big choice to make in the YouTube era, when stars can’t go do gay performances for gay audiences and expect no one outside of the community to see it), which is a good sign w/r/t tolerance for homosexiness.

  167. LMAO I Love it! What great fun this performance was. And dang, that outfit gives the phrase “What an ass” a whole different meaning. Work that latex BB and keep on thrusting. The boots and bejeweled codpiece were works of art. Totally love those boots (or lower leg accoutrement as the case may be). The hilarity of the bad dancers also knows no bounds.

  168. Hmm, I actually liked the outfit but thought the actual production was amateurish. It could have been a cabaret show. Did those dancers have any rehearsal time? Sheesh.

I realize bad camera angles and poor audio influenced the whole here, but I just wasn’t feelin it. BUT – as long as HE had fun.

  169. I think the dancers were the same dancers throughout, I doubt there was much rehearsal.

  170. jms, those dancers sure were not from the Royal Ballet troup ;)
but they had fun and that’s what counts :) If only they stayed away from the camera, so that Adam would be in full view all the time (especially his codpiece) :p

  171. Sparkly codpiece, you say? Ah, now that’s the Adam I love. <3

Those dancers dressed in red are gonna give me nightmares :s.

Ha ha, the red dancers were my favorite part. OTT Adam is way more interesting when he doesn’t half ass it and just randomly throw in a kiss and a grope into an otherwise boring performance. Much better stage show than the disappointing AMA gig, IMO. (Though the choreo/dancers still need some polish.)

What? He does? First I miss boots, then this. I really need to block the mid section off when I watch the video because I am missing lots of stuff because I keep staring at the lots of “sausage stuffing”.

My 9 yr old said he looks like Batman :-)

  174. This was an lgbt mardi GRAS party. The point is to dress as outrageously and provocatively as possible. Wearing a plaid flannel shirt and jeans woud have been inappropriate. Adam looked fabulous from every angle! From what I understand those were not “his” dancers. They were mardi GRAS fest dancers and danced for various acts

  175. sr4mjc-
Thank you for the numbers! Wow- those are really good numbers aren’t they?

He could make top ten in both of those charts still, right???
(Crossing my fingers for top 5 or even higher, ofcourse, just don’t want to be dissappointed… )

And lorismile- lol at Batman! Tell your daughter that I can def. see Batman in that outfit, and Batman with blue hair rocks! It’s like a mix between Batman, Robin and the Joker!!! :-)

  176. I would think by now that people know exactly what Adam is all about. He is not your run of the mill performer. To him, the clothes, makeup, props are all part of him performances. If you don’t like that, then he is not the performer for you. Maybe Danny will outsell him. I don’t really care. I wouldn’t go down the block to see a performer like Danny, Kris or Chris D. They are soooo boring. I love the excitement of seeing what Adam is going to do tonight.

Toronto has a big gay pride parade. Some of you should come up for it. You will definitely see that Adam was quite tame in comparison to some who participate in it.

  177. I have no vocabulary for what my eyes just witnessed. I prefer Adam a bit more tamed. Its a good think hes versatile and not just this all the time.

I agree. For those of us who aren’t caught up in the worship of his ‘assets’ this was awful.

  178. Woohoo I am sooo loving the real Adam!! I love the glitter, the clothes, just everything about his performances. Damn, he is one sexy beast. I am so glad that 19 is letting Adam be Adam and not forcing him into the boy next door look that he was sporting on some of his performances on AI. He’s even letting his hair grow a little again. Did not like his hair cut shorter on AI. For me at least, the more glam the better. Of course, I was in high school in the mid 80’s when you had major glam happening so this makes me giddy!!

  179. okey guys, I watched it for the umptieth time and am 99% sure that he was wearing butt enhancement wear of some sort – you can see it makes his “cheeks” more pronounced, especially from a closeup, not that I mind, of course :)

  180. Adam gets some pretty good support from http://www.afterelton.com as well. He. Has won there gay of the week many times because of idol and even his record sales upon release. He got there visablity award for musicion of 2009. He was #16 in there Hot 100 (heheby the way Kris was #98). If you ever want to read some good stuff go back and read their live chat from idol, hehehe thwy are pretty cute when talking about Adam and Kris.

  181. I agree he sounded and looked amazing. Eventually I’ll stop watching it.

  182. Hahaha! Sydney Mardi Gras looks like a blast!! For the venue and audience, his performance was perfect – very tongue-in-cheek.

I’m sure many of you have never been to this type of festival; that would explain some shock – but really, this type of performance is sexy, harmless and FUN! I hope Adam enjoyed himself.

  183. I am going to say what I hope many others have already said.( Page numbers again please Mj? Wiith Agave nectar on top?) Adam sang great at Mardi Gra. This is one of the best performances of FYE ( I think FS was really good) that he has done of this song. His performance, campy, a little sexual, with goofy dancers, was perfect for Mardi gras. He’s an adult, performing in a country that is, thank goodness, less up tight than his home country, for an audience of gay men, lesbians, and partiers that don’t give a hoot if anyone IS gay or lesbian. He was just right. He could have even gone a little further and only recieved more cheers. Remember, most of his audience was barely even clothed. Adam was probably over dressed! And yes, his A$$ets looked dang good in that spandex! Good for you Adam, giving your audience what they want. :)

  184. clearone, cheer up :) this was all for good fun, it was Mardi Gras, everybody was dressed like that. His vocals were great and he was having fun (well deserved) – it’s not like he dresses like that for every venue ;)

  185. Adam gets some pretty good support from http://www.afterelton.com as well.

Yes he does. I never visited a gay website before Adam went on Idol. I’m sure there are others here who never did either. Adam, just by being Adam, is opening people up. I really enjoy afterelton.com. It is one of my favorite sites to check out now (and not just for Adam articles) and I would never have discovered it if not for Adam.

I think FYE is a love it or hate it type of song anyways. Fever would’ve been a great song to sing but for this Mardi Gras, FYE lyrics fit really well.

I don’t love everything Adam does. I’m just not as vocal on the performances that I don’t love or are meh for me.

  186. I agree. For those of us who aren’t caught up in the worship of his ‘assets’ this was awful.

While I certainly find his assets, well…, abundant, that’s not what I most enjoy about this performance. What attracted me to Adam on Idol, aside from his vocal talent, was the fact that he changed things up and always had that “…element of surprise” as Paula said after his “Tracks of My Tears” performance. I had really stopped listening to current music because I felt like everything sounded alike. At one point, I was loving the alternative rock stations, but then every new band began sounding just like all the others on the station. Adam doesn’t sound like anyone else, and, even more intriguing and exciting to me, is that he doesn’t even sound like himself in every performance. When he’s singing the same song repeatedly (such as WWFM), he changes it with every performance, and when he sings different songs, they all have their own, unique sound and vibe. This Mardi Gras performance was, IMO, ideal for the event, and just another side of this always–to me, anyway–interesting artist. He can strip it down and he can glam-ham it up, but underneath the outfits and costumes the singing is consistently amazing to me.

  187. butt enhancement

Uh, don’t think so for a sec. There is picture somewhere–can’t find it this second–of Adam in shorts at the Burning Man festival that will confirm that he has a positive posterior. Also, there’s a video of him walking away from the camera at a tour rehearsal. He’s sporting an Eagle on his seat, but that’s not why I admit to repeatedly viewings

So, so very shallow [hangs head], but that Spandex left zip to the imagination and caught me offguard…in a good way!! :)

okey guys, I watched it for the umptieth time and am 99% sure that he was wearing butt enhancement wear of some sort – you can see it makes his “cheeks” more pronounced, especially from a closeup, not that I mind, of course

That’s what came to my mind the first time I saw it. Didn’t want to rain on anyone’s parade last night, but they look like butt cheek inserts to me. He sounded pretty good but the dancers were atrocious. But it fit the venue, I get it.

  189. clearone, cheer up this was all for good fun, it was Mardi Gras, everybody was dressed like that. His vocals were great and he was having fun (well deserved) – it’s not like he dresses like that for every venue

Thank goodness! I know many wouldn’t mind, but for me, when he is dressed provocatively like this, the focus is taken away from his true gift…..his voice. Anyhow, I’ve learned one thing, no more Mardi Gras for me. Think I’ll go back and watch his SYTYCD performance…..

  190. Sealily – I’ve seen the burning man pic – but I don’t think his physique now is as good as it was back then. His arms were very toned in that burning man picture as well – which isn’t the case now. I dunno, just looked like butt pads to me. But I could very well be talking out of my own butt :D
The crotch thrusting was ridiculous in my opinion. I don’t like in your face sexuality. I find it crude and ugly. I’m not really into “hawt” Adam, but as an example of my taste, I found the Ring of Fire performance to be very sensual.

  191. sealily1c, look carefully, there is a couple of close ups – you can clearly see that there is something stiff on his behind :) probably just because he was not wearing any underwear :)

  192. “THIS IS ADAM F****** LAMBERT! HELLO!!!”

    my exact thought mr.

the costume, the vocals, his stage persona, all HAWT all AMAZING. The pants dont look like there was any room for any tush enhancers they look skin tight to me, no panty lines. Its ALL Adam. From head to toe he was there for their entertainment and I am thrilled it was posted so we could feel apart of the evening too.

Clearone you mentioned Adam’s performance on SYTYCD, do you have a link for it? the one I have has been pulled off youtube. Id love to see it again. thx

  193. Live performance of FYE does not work for Adam. The song is hard to sing live and when he tried to hit the high notes, his voice was out of tune. All of his FYE live performances have the same problems.

  194. clearone Thank goodness! I know many wouldn’t mind, but for me, when he is dressed provocatively like this, the focus is taken away from his true gift…
well, I know he is not for everybody, but if it makes him happy and does not hurt anybody, where is the harm? He can change it up for different occasions, look how many different performances he gave within just one week – this particular event was very in line with who Adam is and his history with Zodiac and other stuff. This is as much a true Adam, as Adam singing Mad World or national Anthem :)

Live performance of FYE does not work for Adam. The song is hard to sing live and when he tried to hit the high notes, his voice was out of tune

Beg to differ! I also find FYE to be hard to sing live for him, and in some previous performances it was def. pitchy (especially AMAs), but this time it was perfect. He did some improvs that veered off the original melody, but that can hardly be called “singing out of tune”, can it?

  196. mr, I agree with you, although in the beginning he was a little “pitchy” but I think it was the nerves, whenever he is nervous, he sounds a little pitchy (he said that himself), but then he relaxed and started singing beautifully :)

  197. lamslova, that’s the one from Australia, will look for the US in a minute

  198. I found the Ring of Fire performance to be very sensual.

For all my joking comments, they are just that, joking. I agree with ROF being so sensual just like I thought acoustic WLL was in the same way. Adam using his voice to draw us in, not his body.
It always starts with his voice for me. He knows what word to enhance when he’s singing. I think this FYE is his best live version, but it’s still the one song that I prefer the CD version.

  199. The pants dont look like there was any room for any tush enhancers they look skin tight to me, no panty lines.

I’ve worn something like them on my breasts when I’ve wanted to cover my “headlights” when wearing a very sheer form fitting strapless dress. They don’t show any lines and they feel like flesh.

  200. oooops sorry that was the US version, I am sure the Australia version is published on MJ’s blog – let me take a look

  201. I found the Ring of Fire performance to be very sensual.

Agreed. This was THE performance that slayed me. I don’t think I took a breathe in 90 seconds.

Crotch thrusting has been around in rock n’ roll for eons!! And it isn’t everyone’s taste obviously, but it doesn’t bother me at all. It just makes me laugh. It is just theatre! LOL. And at this venue–where pretty well anything goes–Adam was VERY toned down, IMHO.

If you didn’t like this, I assume you don’t like the Zodiac Club stuff!!! And, come to think of it, Adam’s set this summer during Idols live was full of pelvic thrusts, mic stand humping and fluid body rolls that were pretty in your face.

    :)

  202. well, it looks like they took it down, have to wait for a new one to appear

  203. Okay, I’ve decided I’ve lost it. It is a gorgeous day here, snow melting like crazy in the sun, and I am inside, participating in a good-natured debate about a man’s buttocks and whether they were padded or not for a performance that might have been crude or not with vocals that might have been excellent or not!!!

Hahahaha. I am taking my own unpadded ass for a run.

    Ciao everyone!

  204. Lorismile
I know I am also one that Adam has introduced to new things. For instance I don’t watch AI at all. I only heard about Adam the morning after the AMA’s. And now here I am every day on MJ’s blog looking for news about Adam whiich by default I learn a lot about the giant community the surrounds it. I. Personally dislike Top 40 music and even had become bored with my alternative radio station. Adam’s vioce is fresh and new, he really has me listening to music again and really wanting to see a concert for the first time in many years. As well as all the LGBT web sites I have dicovered that I never knew were out there. I have always been a supporter before but now I know where I can be active on the web cuz of him *cheers*.
and as to his music if his diff outfits cause such debate imagine when (I refuse to say if) he puts out live and best of cd’s. Hehehe I can just hear the complaining now. “Why didn’t he put this song it”. “God I don’t like that version why couldn’t he put mthis on in it was my favorite”. Hehehe guy can’t win.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the promo tour brings us. And I am using my version of IMHO=I Must Have Overthetop :P

  205. sealily1c- ditto! I find ROF and accoustic WLL Adam to be the most sexy performances from him, but then, when he gets into “sex rage mode” (for lack of a better term, ha), he just cracks me up from his sheer energy! So it’s all good (for those of us who love all of it, I mean… I guess it’s not “all good” for those who really dislike some of his styles…)!

Edit: Oh, I see you’re off for a run! Good for you girl! I’m still at work, but heading on to the gym later on… we all want nice butts like Our Master… (I don’t need any padding on mine thankyouverymuch!!!)

Yeah, good way of putting it – I don’t think I breathed for 90 seconds either! :D It’s hard to explain. I love many different Adam looks – love the fierce make up, blue hair, things like that. Sometimes the make up is a miss for me – looks a bit drag queenish.
The body rolls during the tour were a little gay for me. Which I don’t have a problem with – but I don’t find sexy. I think I like fierce, “straight man” Adam persona, ie AI performances of WLL, RoF, BTBW. But I also love the pic of Adam with a blue face, or black lips. Didnt like the TOMT look. It’s just hit or miss with me – but I love that I never know what to expect with him (so entertaining!) and I freaking love his voice.

  207. I think someone has said this before but it is soooooo true. You can love him, you can hate him but you can’t ignore him. :)

  208. I find it kind of funny & I find it kind of sad that versatility is given a negative vibe. I love his versatility. I find it exciting.

The bottom line is that Adam can perform almost anything any other singer can, but most other singers could never duplicate his performances. That’s talent. To quote someone on Twitter – “He’s a walking, talking, singing piece of Art.”

  209. I was completely mesmerized by the fantastic visual & audio show that only our Glittery One can pull off! Way to go BB! :)

Gotta say that I was one of those who were once easily “shocked” whenever Adam stepped out of his box for a particular performance as I was so used to the shall I say the “far tamer AI” image lol! However, I can now proudly declare that I’m beginning to “GET IT” I guess! Nothing that Adam does or will be doing in the future will ever “shock” me anymore lol! Instead, I am now fully onboard for the wild and glorious ride! :)

Btw, found some more pics from the Mardi Gras event, not sure if this had been posted yet. Enjoy!

it’s so much more interesting to just let go and see when Adam’s tide is going to take you this time, makes life more fascinating and less predictable :)

  212. smeggingnuts- :-)
Have you seen his Can’t get no Satisfaction? That was the first time I saw him- and the thing that completely turned me on about him was his being so manic and letting go on a platform like American F@@@@@@ Idol! I couldn’t beleive it! And then Randy said something like “You gotta watch it, I mean, it was a little bit manic and all- but Mick Jagger is supposed to be manic right (duh!! UNDERSTATEMENT!)? So it was a little bit manic (yeah, Randy rambles a bit, lol), but it was DA BOMB! I mean- WHAT?? WHAT? WHAT? COME ON! (yes I’ve seen it a few times, hee hee…)”
And I was just trying to pick up my jaw ever since :-)

He just has so much spirit!

  213. Wow, Adam has been chosen to close the AMAs, close Mardi Gras, open Universal Studios theater in Singapore and open for the new unplugged series.

What a long way to come from singing at Upright Cabaret a little over a year ago.

  214. To quote someone on Twitter – “He’s a walking, talking, singing piece of Art.”
THIS, and also a walking, talking, singing piece of Ass, if I might add

Well, this is a first. Don’t ever think I’ve seen this on the blog before… LOL. I think the closest we came was Taylor Hicks’ onion.

  215. Lu, I am a new AI fan, what was about Taylor Hicks and onion? Do tell, please :)

  216. Good morning at least on the west coast. Just trying to catch up on the news. Love all the talk about Adam’s versatility. At last weeks FS concert my sister and I were so excited to see what “his look” was going to be. That’s exciting.
I love Adam no matter what but for me he has such beautiful eyes. So I love him with no or minimal makeup

  217. As far as Adam harming his career, nah, its been tried by many and his star, keeps rising. VFTW contributed, other idols contributed, fanbases contributed with complaints and letters to radio stations.
Nope it not happening,RCA has taken all the negatives and flipped it around and Adam is far and beyond the AI bubble. World wide and by the looks of the Japan, /Canada/Australian/China charts it is happening. America to #16 on the Pop charts is not to shabby for a guy that has many faces. A gold single and gold album is icing on the cake. Love that Adam

The FCC form was supplied by VFTW and encouraged members to complain.

  218. Mr, oh yeah I am quite the fangirl I have pretty much seen all video available of him :) I love it all. What I think is awesome is when he gets gets really into what he is doing them makes himslef laugh at what he is doing. I love how he doesn’t take himself seiously and can laugh at his super sexy self.

  219. GreatAdamFan:, welcome to the club

Thanks agathe.hb I do so agree! Can’t believe that it took me quite a while to realize what an incredible god-send talent Adam really is, silly me ;) Like the often quoted phrase over here: Resistance is Futile lol! :)

  220. what a great way to spend a day – talking about Adam’s talent and other assets ;)

  221. Well, yep, Oskana2000 resistance is futile :) When reading the comments I am so happy that I am not the only Adam-crazy person :)

  222. Yeah I need to see more of Adam’s “assets”. I need the cheer up just spent an hour getting my car out of the impound:(
I need Adam to make me feel better.

  223. I feel that Adam always puts a great deal of thought into what he wears for each and every performance. This was obvious to me from day one on Idol. I would bet that he did plenty of research into the Mardis Gras celebration in Sydney before selecting his attire for the performance. I also feel that his outfit choices are ALWAYS appropriate for the type of performance as well as the venue. Even though many felt that the AMA performance was a hot mess, he still dressed beautifully for the occasion.

  224. dcglam, THIS :)
He is truly refined in that area, I would never be concerned that he would dress badly for the occasion, even before he had a stylist :)
The only outfit (the entire look, actually) I did not like that much was Young Hollywood Awards – I did not like the hairstyle or the jacket, but he was still dressed to fit the occasion

  225. I’ve lost touch a bit with last season’s Idols but this? This was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.

Adam is a walking cliche but I hope he never stops. He’s definitely entertaining me even if not in the way he originally intended.

    Good grief that was funny.

  226. So I was flailing about this vid on twitter last night, but just had to add my comments here: I love how completely open, sexy, confident, and fearless he is! Such a refreshing (and rare) combination.

I feel he’s getting to open himself up so much more with the international stuff too, which is an extra treat for us fans to see :-) In the US he has to worry about so much superfluous crap, but overseas we get to see the liberated Adam! And it’s great that the rest of the world now gets to experience him too! (though still looking forward to having him coming back to the states, too – I miss him!)

I totally agree, agathe.hb! I was not a fan of this look at all. Come to think of it, it probably is the only time I have said that about Adam’s look. Yes, even spandex and codpiece were much better than that….. ;)

  229. sallysimmons, well maybe he inteded to make people laugh at him and with him? He does not take himself seriously and come on, if he dressed like that he obviously was not expecting to be taken seriously – it was for fun :)
just one question, he is a cliche of what exactly? because I cannot think of anybody he would be cliche of? nobody comes to mind….

  230. dcglam: but he can be forgiven, right ;) he looks fabulously most of the time :) everybody is entitled to make an error in judgment once in a while….

  231. I am in a dream state and could watch Adam perform all day. After reading all the posts he could go up there naked Id still love him lol. Agathe you da bomb bb thx

  232. Adam Lambert- the beauty of Adam (on top of his out of this world voice)is his willing to play. And he’ll play anything that he fancies- and he’ll rock it, because he’s that talented. If that makes him an actor- then again- where is the put-down here??? I fail to see it!!!

    ^ ^ This !

Adam looks like he was having the time of his life up there… Dressed perfectly for the occasion, too.

  233. After reading all the posts he could go up there naked Id still love him

LOL….. Now that would be a real treat for most of his fans!! :)

  234. dcglam, I don’t know about completely naked though ;)
contrary to naked women, who look fabulous, men … not so much….

tls62 – nope, he will stay in those clothes until he comes back on Idol ;)

  238. Well we can now tell those are not his Kiss and Tell boots. Those are modified catcher chin guards.

  239. smeggingnuts:, plus as well as I can remember (it makes me pathetic though), Adam has donated his Kiss outfit to a Rock Cafee or something?

  240. In the interview when asked how he thought he would do singing after the great singer George Michael- Adam said (he was modest unnecessarily) Adam said there would be a lot of other performers between Michael’s performance and his but he said he would definitely be wearing the better costume. It was MADRI GRAS folks, costume time. He looked perfect- a Glam Rock Sex God costume and it fit his perfect exotic male bod. Sang great too.

  241. Now I have to wash my eyes out with soap. This proved to me the man can’t sing. But he sure can scream.

  242. I’ve reviewed Burning Man butt pics and the butt pics from the Idol tour rehearsal with the wings on the back…no denying he’s hiding a butt under his everyday jeans…whether or not he’s pushing it up in the spandex, I have no idea. But I think we can all agree that the codpiece must have been a tight fit. :)

  243. Not his platform boots from when he performed with Kiss but the boots he wore in the video on youtube where he is singing Kiss and Tell at a club with 2 dancers.

  244. Lorismile, god I hope he didn’t wax:( that would be a shame.
Also (ok I have watched to much utube) but I think that codpiece is from the burningman video where he is singing the Star Spangled Banner.

  245. Adam just gets sillier with every gig. I do kind of laugh when I remember the more serious Idol rocker guy. You just know before long he’ll do a gig in full drag regalia. Which actually is kind of a fun idea.

  246. Yes…a rare ‘beauty’ he is!! Those pics….were they sent to us by the Universe via PLANET FIERCE?!!

And thought I’d be ‘bored’ while Adam was away on his international tour! LOL

He is ‘one of a kind’ and we are lucky to be able to be around to watch his fun, glitter filled ride to the TOP!

  247. well, jpfan, Adam has said many times that he is not into drag, so I don’t think so… But as far as imaginative apparel is concerned – well I expect him to be very innovative :)

  248. I absolutely loved Adam’s outfit and his performance. Yes, he’s got many other ass-ets than his voice. But he just seemed so happy and free there….and loved that smile at the end! It was signature Adam. The performance and the outfit was totally appropriate for the audience, and his voice sounded great! It’s too bad that some people just dont get the performance art aspect of Adam. He is so talented and beautiful. I hope he gets a great reception in every country that he visits. I am going to keep a close watch on the sales in each country.

  249. Adam is singing better and better live. His rock wail is in perfect form. (BTW this is singing and not screaming) I love that he can do this and also do his bluesy sexy version of Led Zeppelin’s Whole lotta love then Do Soaked or Whataya Want from me. The man can SING like very few others can or have. Adam can sing and sing phenomenally .

I also have to comment again on the great pic that MJ has as the Headline thread pic. I love the smile. Like I said before this pic says it all!!!

  250. Dhunken, I know that is the best pic. I LOVE his smile, one of my favorite “assets”.

  251. I’m kinda confused here. Was he really supposed to dress conservatively at a gay Mardis Gras show? And since when did how someone dress have anything to do with their voice?

  252. This proved to me the man can’t sing.

    Hahahahahahahahahahah

That was in jest, was it not?

Maybe you’re right- the man can’t sing- but he can sure play his instrument- from the highest note of the guitar to the lowest, as I recall some annonymous producer declared not long ago…

  253. Kanadie Bonttell:
    03/07/2010 at 4:16 pm

From codpiece to boy next door…he sure can mix it up!

He really does dress for each occasion. Love it!

  254. Yes Adamland I just saw this on TV. This is the only way I like watching Adam sing- in acoustic style- he looks much better when he’s more natural!! He did a good job of WWFM .
The only thing is – the hosts always give a quick interview with a performer & they didn’t . They kept saying – “Oh we’ve had a chat in the commercials & he’s a nice bloke”. I could tell that they were obviously told not to ask him anything live! A bit strange really!! I can hear them saying he’s a bit “precious”!!!

Well, you should be happy with all the stripped and acoustic stuff he has been doing lately. I believe he will incorporate the acoustics into his concert performances now like he did at FS last weekend.

I love each side of Adam and just wait for each performance to reveal something different. Adam is never boring that’s for sure.

  256. well, I would love to see acoustic Adam sitting on a stool with just a codpiece on – that would satisfy all the fans, lol ;)

  257. I could tell that they were obviously told not to ask him anything live! A bit strange really!! I can hear them saying he’s a bit “precious”!!!

It could have been a time issue, or any number of things. Not like Adam hasn’t given live interviews or had problems with that before. Also just had to note, I found your progression of exclamation points in your sentences to be interesting. First one, then two, then three. Cute.

It probably was time constraints and reports are that a couple of segments after the performance they showed Adam signing autographs and meeting fans outside the Sunrise TV studio and said that fans had been waiting for hours. The female host said that they judged an artist by whether they stopped to sign autographs and speak to their fans. Both commented on how nice Adam was. Then the male host said they did not have much time to speak to him, but between commercials it was clear he was a really nice guy.

  260. tls62, I cannot help being like Kara said “confused and sort of happy” – I have this strange feeling that it’s not the end of Adam’s tricks in his, hmmm, sleeve ;)

How many more can he possibly have in his sleeve? I keep thinking he can’t possibly come up with anything more, and he proves me wrong performance after performance. Who in the world can go from gittery, codpiece wearing fierceness 24 hours ago to this sweet, innocent, take me home to meet your parents dream boat on the morning show? I can think of NOBODY…present or past that is this versatile in voice and stage presence. I’m so happy that it all happened at a time in my life that I’m able to enjoy him and witness it all live occasionally. :)

Yes they did all that Adamland because they didn’t interview him. I watch this show all the time & they always have time to quickly interview the artist mainly to give more of a plug to their album & to ask how things are going!!It really is unusual not to say anything live to the artist . Sometimes artists are put on the spot by these hosts & whilst I am sure Adam could handle that , I feel its his management that might a have said no to this!!
Or it may have been the shows management not wanting any mention of the Mardi Gras performance on a family show!!

  263. judes, so do you mean that there is censorship in Australia too? as far as homosexuality is concerned?

  264. Whoot! Right now they are playing FYE for the beginning of the red carpet show for the academy awards on the E network! I might put this on the other thread.

  265. Whoot! Right now they are playing FYE for the beginning of the red carpet show for the academy awards on the E network! I might put this on the other thread.

    Woohoooo ….. so exciting.

  266. I loved it. He sounded and looked great. Unfortunately I read the comments before watching the video and couldn’t stop looking at his ass the entire time. I never cared for his butt before (heh). It’s cute. If that’s really his ass, he gained some weight (not that I’m complaining). He looked soooooo skinny at the Kradison concert, there’s no way he’s still the same weight and have a nice full butt like that.

Leaving the shallow behind, the performance was good (and I almost never like that song live). I loved his smile at the end.

  267. I love the Sunrise performance. He sounds and looks terrific. I guess if push came to shove and I had to pick one Adam…I would pick the acoustic performer with minimum make up. I am not offended by all the other Adams. Just love this one the most. I also love to hear him being interviewed especially when it is fun and relaxed.

I agree with all of your post. I too love all sides of Adam but I would have to pick this Sunrise performance as my favorite look and I like the voice too.

oooops- You missed it. They interviewed him BEFORE he sang.

    This is what you missed:

Sunrise – In the intro they called him one of America’s most controversial singers but went on to note that there is more to him than just stage antics. Then they pushed the album.

They did a quick standup interview talking about how important it is to him that the look and the music go together. Adam made a joke about how in theatre they were always making him take off the nailpolish etc so is nice to be able to be himself. Then he sang WWFM. They loved the song and also gave a shout out to Voodoo as being with Sam Sparro.

  273. oooops- You missed it. They interviewed him BEFORE he sang.

Thanks for letting us know…whew another “gate” adverted. Just a misunderstanding again. Adam was interviewed no controversy or conspiracy involved…..wow Kind of boring isn’t it.

  274. i thought i saw tears too, but then i thought maybe glitter or sweat or just the light reflection. any way it was effective. as much as i love adam and don’t want to say anything negative he does get a bit overdramatic at times and oversings stuff, but at least he is NEVER boring!

  275. i did love the sunrise performance, especially how monte and longineu were showcased. these guys are both great musicians and only make adam betterer. i loved how the whole performance was filmed, great direction and camera angles etc. super yummy close ups! wish i could have seen the little interview.

  276. Bring on the body enhancements because the less I see of Adam’s real body, the better. That corset/bare chest look wasn’t sexy at all. It just reminded me how oddly proportioned he is. But whatever, the rest of the costume was hot.

Holy crap, Neil Patrick Harris on the Academy Awards in the sparkliest jacket ever!

Seems to me to be well-proportioned in all the right places. :)
He dresses to suit the occasion. OTT at Mardi Gras, normal on the Sunrise morning show. Keep surprising us, BB. Love the suspense. lol

  281. I thought this was a great performance. I love this side of Adam. He reminds me of so many amazing talents that came before him. This kind of performance is part of his personality just like his emotional, stripped down side. It’s all amazing! :)

  282. Well finally got to see it on my puter not my phone…lol loved it, much better on a screen bigger than a credit card. I am surprised he was able to get all that glitter out.:)

That doesn’t sound right to me because the Mardi Gras parade is broadcast on Australian TV and no one seems to have a problem with the scanty costumes being seen by “families”. In any case, what do you think happened at the MG performance that is not fit to talk about? We’ve all seen it and it’s no more risque than any of the performances families watch on the Grammies.

One thing to remember is that words in the English language are constantly evolving, as our collective experience changes. For example, there is also this definition of “wail” in dictionary.com:

Slang. to express emotion musically or verbally in an exciting, satisfying way.

Musically exciting and satisfying. Yep, sounds like the perfect description of Adam to me.

Thank you for posting this so I did not have to post it. This is the definition of wail I was referring and is the definition that is closest when discussing someone who is singing (music reference). The other definitions that were posted describe wail in a different setting and is wonderful when used in a book about loss and pain and sorry but has nothing to do with singing so is not being used in the proper context when using it to describe one who is singing. So though it is appreciated that the other definition was posted it is not the definition that is properly used in this instance.

I would like to say I also agree that Adam’s Wail is his way to express emotion musically or verbally in an exciting, satisfying way. Because when he wails I become excited and satisfied. Glamman Adam Lambert
