‘They Beg You for Sob Stories’: 10 People Reveal What Actually Goes Into Filming a Reality TV Show – “I made it through a few rounds for a well-known singing show and they beg you for sob stories. On my very first application form, I was asked about the most difficult moment in my life, what obstacles I’d overcome to be there, had I ever experienced bullying, etc. They pretty much make you tell them a sob story. So I wrote all about my heartbreak when I ran out of coffee.” – Read more at People

Adam Lambert Admits He Was Scared by Ariana Grande’s Concert Bombing – Though Adam is a natural stage entertainer, he admits that he was “caught off guard” by tragedies such as the Manchester bombing, which claimed the lives of 22 people, and the 2016 shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in which 49 people were killed. “These events definitely caught me off guard and scared the hell out of me,” the singer recalled in an interview with British GQ magazine. “Events in Paris (the Bataclan theatre massacre), events in Orlando, Ariana’s concert – all these terrible tragedies have scared me. I feel somewhat reassured by amazing security teams that have been put into place, at least for our concerts. I think there’s a lot of new security protocols that have been put into place, both on stage and in the audience, so that makes me feel better. Letting that stop what we do is letting them win and we don’t want that.” – Read more at Ace Showbiz

Phillip Phillips Opens Up About His Latest Album, His Emotional Wedding Vows And Winning American Idol – Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully, I will still be playing music. I’ll probably be balding a little, have a kid or two, and another dog. Being on the road is tough when it comes to staying healthy. When we are at home, my wife and I eat healthy, but when I hit the road, I love chocolate so much and sweets in general. I don’t know how I got on this topic, but I do love chocolate. – Read more at HauteLiving

Listen: How ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Changed Broadway – Since starting his tenure on “So You Think You Can Dance” 10 seasons ago, Spencer Liff has choreographed Broadway productions from “Falsettos” to “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” to “Head Over Heels,” the new musical with tunes by the Go-Go’s that’s now running at the Hudson Theatre. But Liff’s work isn’t the only way that Fox’s long-running dance series has changed Broadway. “It’s educated people sitting at home who have never been in a dance class,” Liff said on the latest episode of Stagecraft, Variety‘s theater podcast, on which he appeared alongside Michael Mayer, the Tony-winning director of “Head Over Heels.” “They’ve heard the judges comment, on both our show and ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and they now know the difference between a battement and a tour-jeté, and who’s doing it correctly.” Listen at Variety

‘Bachelorette’ Winner Garrett Yrigoyen Says He’s Trying to ‘Be Better’ Following Instagram Scandal – “I’m still sticking with the apology that I put on Instagram, that I mindlessly was swiping through on Instagram and double tapped,” Yrigoyen told ET Special Correspondent Kristine Johnson. “I wasn’t reading [into] the image. I was just taking the image for just what it was. Now I’m more aware and not making those mistakes again. Moving forward, when I see a picture, I’m actually reading the post and what it is about because I don’t want to support something or like a picture that I don’t support, essentially.” While Yrigoyen insists that “mindlessly swiping” was the cause of this Instagram scandal, when asked if he found any of the posts funny, he replied, “Yeah, maybe the humor in the picture.” – Read more at Entertainment Tonight

Who Will Be ‘The Bachelor’? ABC Executive Weighs in on Next Leading Man – ABC confirms to Variety that the next “Bachelor” has not been cast yet, and while there are frontrunners, no decisions have been made when it comes to the next leading man. The network isn’t tasked to make any casting decisions until the end of summer because “The Bachelor” does not head into production until this September, ahead of its early 2019 premiere. So the casting team will wait to see the audience’s reception to last night’s gut-wrenching finale, which saw Blake get his heart broken, plus the new season of “Bachelor in Paradise” to see which reality stars may become fan-favorites, just like Nick Viall did a few summers back, which ultimately landed him the top spot as “The Bachelor.” – Read more at Variety
