Ralphie Returns to NYC! Chatting with the Company of A CHRISTMAS STORY on Opening Night

(Los Angeles, CA, October 26, 2010) — Adam Lambert has traveled far since his days as a freckle faced, red-headed kid playing “Linus” in his school production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Along the way, he’s pushed boundaries, reinvented glam-rock and transformed himself into a universal sex symbol. The most beloved runner-up in American Idol history shares his journey to stardom in his own words in the upcoming E! True Hollywood Story, set to premiere November 21st at 9:00 PM, ET/PT.

Also sitting down with E! are Lambert’s mother, Leila; father, Eber; brother, Neil; close friends and widely respected music journalists Anne Powers and Vanessa Grigoriadis. Lambert’s family shares intimate anecdotes from the pop star’s childhood in North San Diego County. “I’m very fortunate to have parents that recognized that I was different and recognized how I was special. They didn’t ever try to box me in, ” says Lambert. The singer also divulges wild stories from his days performing in various musical theater gigs on cruise ships and throughout Europe. He explains, “I was exploring my sexuality a lot more aggressively. I was living a rock star lifestyle. I tried a lot of things – it was a big eye-opener for me.”

Lambert also tells E! the revelation he experienced while attending the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert that landed him at American Idol auditions in San Francisco. American Idol judge Randy Jackson shares with E! his recollections of that fateful day when he heard Lambert’s Idol audition – “I was like ‘Oh my God- I’ve been looking for this guy, where has this guy been?” To the shock of many, Lambert did not walk away the winner of the popular singing competition, losing to Kris Allen in the final vote. This new E! True Hollywood Story examines the speculation surrounding the Idol results and Lambert’s reaction to being a runner-up.

Also chronicled in the one-hour program are the emotional and controversial milestones in Lambert’s personal life. From how he told his parents that he was gay, to the release of potentially damaging photos of him kissing an ex-boyfriend during the height of the American Idol craze, to his Rolling Stone magazine cover story and his highly criticized American Music Awards performance, Lambert reveals all. Says the singer, “My fans have been really supportive of my choice to be open and upfront about my sexuality and my lifestyle. I have come from the belief that hiding something from people and manipulating what they think of you is far more offensive and disrespectful than just being upfront and being who you are.”

With new stories, surprising revelations and exclusive photos and videos straight from an extremely candid Lambert himself, this E! True Hollywood Story is not to be missed. Be sure to tune-in to the E! True Hollywood Story: Adam Lambert on November 21th at 9:00 PM only on E!.

  1. OMG… MJ…I was so psyched when I saw this!!!

“I was like ‘Oh my God- I’ve been looking for this guy, where has this guy been?”

    That’s what I was saying!

  2. So excited!

Isn’t this the same night as the AMA’s? Hilarious!

  3. This would be great timing if they release his acoustic CD around Thanksgiving. Gosh, I’m so excited!!!

  4. Isn’t this the same night as the AMA’s? Hilarious

    Yep.
Now I wonder if it is intentional..

  5. Isn’t this the same night as the AMA’s? Hilarious
    Yep

    HAHAHAHA

  6. HAHAHAHAHA! Just saw it was the same night as the AMA’s I LOVE IT!

Nothing would please me more if they mentioned some of the industry snubbing him lately. For crying out loud you have interviewers from other countries telling him he is the BEST vocalist in the world and he cannot even get recognition for that.

  7. The singer also divulges wild stories from his days performing in various musical theater gigs on cruise ships and throughout Europe. He explains, “I was exploring my sexuality a lot more aggressively. I was living a rock star lifestyle. I tried a lot of things – it was a big eye-opener for me.” Lambert also tells E! the revelation he experienced while attending the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert that landed him at American Idol auditions in San Francisco.

I appreciate Adam’s honesty and openness, but I’m afraid I’m going to hear some things I really don’t need to know. Of course, I’m watching anyway. It’s all about what has brought him to this moment, and it is interesting. I don’t think I could be that open on national television about my life. I admire his courage.

  8. Anything to do with Adam is wonderful to me, and I guess this may be the first time that some peeps will hear some of this, but for me, for you, for me, I don’t expect much in the way of a revelation with this, just all about Adam goodness to be sure, but not much that WE don’t already know, just IMHO. Love that this is the night of the AMA’s!

HAHAHAHAHA! Just saw it was the same night as the AMA’s I LOVE IT!

since I won’t be home for any of it my DVR will be set for only the E! story and def NOT the AMAs. So there – lol

  10. Hmmm. Given a choice between Adam and AMAs I definitely pick Adam! I never watched the AMAs until last year and if he hadn’t been on, I would have changed the channel pretty quickly then too. I always thought it was funny that anyone would have complained about his performance after seeing what the others had done that night.

  11. since I won’t be home for any of it my DVR will be set for only the E! story and def NOT the AMAs.

GreenHippo, I will be home, I’ll be watching E!story AND my DVR will be set to record it… :-D

  12. I have a feeling E! might have one of its most viewed shows ever. Maybe because I’m a fan? :)

  13. Would love if Adam’s E! Story could take a few Nielson points away from the AMA’s, even if it is on a more obscure channel. AS far as Adam revelations, remember what he said about fastening those shoulder straps for the ride? Well, I’ll be fastening them, because you never know what’ll come out of those beautiful lips…you just have to hang on and be ready!

This international fan hopes that someone records this and makes a torrent.

    I’m pretty sure someone will… :-D

  15. I have to wonder if all of E’s press releases are so effusively flattering LOL. I like Adam a lot, and even I think they’re laying it on a bit thick here. I can only imagine what the non-fans will think :).

I’m sure I’ll watch this at some point. Adam is interesting and very articulate. I always enjoy his interviews.

  16. This new E! True Hollywood Story examines the speculation surrounding the Idol results and Lambert’s reaction to being a runner-up.

I am curious to what speculation they are talking about? Do they mean what the fanboards say?

I like Adam a lot, and even I think they’re laying it on a bit thick here. I can only imagine what the non-fans will think .

LOL! The non fans are going to hate it. But really, I’m sure this is par for the course for E! I’m sure they lay it on thick in all their press releases.

  17. I have always enjoyed the E- True Hollywood Story more than most biographies because it tends not to sugar coat everything and make the subject so absurdly sweet.

And since I am one who carries a lot of my own baggage I don’t judge anyone on what they did while they were growing up and finding themselves. In fact, I feel that is what life is about…experiencing and then deciding whether you want to continue on that path or forge a new one.

I have a feeling that Adam will be truthful and insightful and that his friends and family will be the same. It doesn’t pay to try and put everything in a good light just so peeps will think someone is perfect. Excited am I.

  18. I was nervous when I saw the word divulges, but relieved when I read that his family, friends and people who love and respect him are there with him.

  19. LOL! The non fans are going to hate it. But really, I’m sure this is par for the course for E! I’m sure they lay it on thick in all their press releases.

But honestly, who in the general public reads press releases?

  20. “My fans have been really supportive of my choice to be open and upfront about my sexuality and my lifestyle. I have come from the belief that hiding something from people and manipulating what they think of you is far more offensive and disrespectful than just being upfront and being who you are.”

    I LOVE THIS MAN!!!

Oh, I second that! I’m so excited to watch this.

I don’t understand why people would be upset about a press release. Of course E! is gonna praise him. They want people to be interested. Isn’t that obvious?

  22. The most beloved runner-up in American Idol history

I’d love to know how exactly they measure how “beloved” anybody is. Too bad they can’t dial down the hype and just let his compelling story speak for itself.

I havent flailed this much in a LONG time, but this time its actually worth it

i cant wait for adam to stop touring and stuff :)

    i hope so too.

  25. I always thought it was funny that anyone would have complained about his performance after seeing what the others had done that night.

^^^Truth! I always thought that too especially since some of them were so early in the show (Janet J I’m looking at you).

BTW, anyone who wants a concert DVD please respond to AO per the mod’s request

  26. Beyond ironic that this is premiering opposite the amas. But luckily e repeats these things a million times so there will be many opportunities to see it. I can’t wait! A whole hour of Adam. Excellent!

  27. Yeaaa!!!! And awesome that it’s same night as AMA’s. The AMA’s are so cheesey – I only watched last year for Adam, and they were even cheesey with him :).

Luv, I can’t wait for the tour to end also, because that means new stuff is being worked on! Gotta go vote “hell yeah” for the GNT dvd.

  28. Luv – luv your enthusiasm

Hersheydog1 – for some reasin the link didn’t come up for the DVD vote. I guess we can just type it in?

  29. OMG…….I am so excited!!!! I think that is why Adam has so many adoring fans, not just because of his out of this world talent, but for the person himself. I have never heard a person as open and as honest as Adam Lambert is!

  30. I am curious to what speculation they are talking about? Do they mean what the fanboards say?

Perhaps Kerry Klosch will get to advertise her book again. After all, she’s the world’s expert on speculation regarding what went down that night. (*cough*)

  31. Regarding Idol — based on past E! HTS they will probably not spend a lot of time on theories why Adam lost to Kris. In depth analysis is not their style.

But I bet they will bring up the AT&T voting issue and the fact that Adam is gay.

Since 44% of Americans say gay or lesbian relations between consenting adults should be illegal, is it that surprising that Adam didn’t win Idol? (Link to Gallup study. http://www.gallup.com/poll/118378/majority-americans-continue-oppose-gay-marriage.aspx )

With the Idol audience skew to the southern part of the Eastern and Central Time Zones and the Idol demos — I am not sure an almost certainly gay contestant could have won. BUT if there was a gay contestant who could have won in 2009, it was not a 27 year old, make-up wearing, left-of-center, glamtastic, Jew from California who had a preference for glam rock and theatrical presentation.

In hindsight, I think it is a miracle that Adam made it to the final — and he did that only because of his extraordinary talent.

In the end — Adam never would have gotten a record deal without Idol. And not having the crown didn’t hurt his career at all. Being “rejected” by America seems to have given him more credibility in other countries (even Canada) who do not have as many fundamentalists as the US (we are the world’s most conservative Christian or Jewish Majority country — less conservative than Saudia Arabia and Malaysia).

  32. Perhaps Kerry Klosch will get to advertise her book again. After all, she’s the world’s expert on speculation regarding what went down that night. (*cough*)

LOL – hopefully they didn’t interview her. She really brings the cray-cray.

Since 44% of Americans say gay or lesbian relations between consenting adults should be illegal

Aw, that’s just sad. I wish some of my fellow Americans would just butt out of other people’s sex lives.

27 year old, make-up wearing, left-of-center, glamtastic, Jew from California who had a preference for glam rock and theatrical presentation.

Hee. That’s an amusing description. Funny, that’s some of the stuff I like best about him :).

  33. Also sitting down with E! are Lambert’s mother, Leila; father, Eber; brother, Neil; close friends and widely respected music journalists Anne Powers and Vanessa Grigoriadis

Speaking of friends who do we know that taped for E!? I know Lee and Scarlet Cherry did, they tweeted about it. Who else?

I really like E! True Hollywood Story. And I´m very excited about it! Can´t wait..

    Don’t even mention the possibility!

Fact is that setting aside the foolish conspiracy theories — the outcome was surprising to people who only casually follow Idol and who do not understand that the Audience does not look like America.

As long as there are capacity constraints on phone voting — particularly and issue on the East Coast (stats are plain to see in Dial Idol busy signals), an AT&T/SWB text vote monopoly which benefits the Southeast and Texas, and Idol is shown live only in the Eastern and Central time zones — hard for anyone from California to beat someone from Arkansas.

There is no need for conspiracy theories — the voting plan was posted on KA Nation — include instructions on how to vote in 7 time zones, buy and use a GO Phone, power call with a computer and organize a church voting group. It was an effective plan. Kris won. For the most part they did it within the rules.

And the same things (excluding the church group plans) were on Adam fan sites. Adam lost. And for the most part Adam fans voted within the rules.

The only thing that still bothers me is the “Vote Against the Non-Believer” church campaigns in Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas and the South. I have one of the flyers (put on my car in a Walmart parking lot in Mississippi) and it is both anti-gay and anti-Semitic. I don’t care that much about Kris winning (particularly because he asked people PUBLICLY not to do this) but I am convinced that hate drove some of the voting — one online social media analyst estimated it was 3% of the total vote — small percentage but non-the-less troubling.

Finally — the KANation voting plan did not include any of this hate-driven voting. It was completely focused on Kris Allen.

  36. Hmmm…E! THS is a show that tend to focus on the negative… Anyway, I’ll be watching it.

  37. Thanks hersheydog. Put in my 2 cents for a DVD. A big OF COURSE WE WANT IT! Do they even have to ask?

  38. It is Kerry Kolsch, not Kerry Klosch. I can’t stand her, she gives all Adam’s fans bad name.
There is no conspiracy. According to Ryan at final 3 Adam’s and Kris’ votes were only 1 million apart. When Danny was eliminated his votes went to Kris. Simple as that.

  39. Kerry Kolsch is like the old crazy aunt that nobody in the family likes to talk about.

  40. Speaking of friends who do we know that taped for E!? I know Lee and Scarlet Cherry did, they tweeted about it. Who else?

Perhaps Danielle. She was there (at the San Diego show) and with Adam most of the night. She even left with him to go to Las Vegas on his bus.

Based on what Adam said in Australian interviews released yesterday — it seems like it will be the Europe Promo Tour and GNT concert(s). My bet/hope is the Zurich Showcase 5/03/2010 and the Indianapolis GNT (VEVO filmed and recorded).

But yesterday he did an interview and said they are still working on the mix. So how will they get a CD out by Thanksgiving? Seems tight to me unless it is limited distribution.

ETA: But I am retired from trying to figure out RCA. The lack of a radio edit for Sleepwalker was the last unexpected bit of insanity for me. What is the point of release the long album track to radio?

ETA #2: I think RCA has their answer — 5 hours, over 680 yes to the DVDs. :)

  42. But yesterday he did an interview and said they are still working on the mix. So how will they get a CD out by Thanksgiving? Seems tight to me unless it is limited distribution.

I think that this will be rather digital EP, not CD. No distribution required.

  43. Finally, something exciting to watch on tv. I aint about to watch the AMAs this year, but I will be watching & recording Adam E! THS. I can’t wait!!

  44. My guess: what counts as “divulging” in the regular press amounts to “old news” to anyone who reads fan boards or Twitter, etc.

I’m not seeing the AMA timing as all that much of a touché. The big story there, IMO, was that they gave him a huge opportunity to show his stuff to a big audience, and he botched it, artistically. The later diss done by ABC cancelled out the positive of the initial opportunity, so it’s a karmic wash. They gave him a really cool gig and took away a couple of minor gigs. No biggie. And every perform has some botched performances, so a shame, but also no biggie. And mainly, almost no one watching will remember anything about it. All the better.

I don’t know if many people watch E!, but on the surface, it seems like kind of a nice gig, so, good for Adam. He and his family are a pleasure to hear in interviews, so this seems like a good deal.

  45. i really don’t focus on why he lost. I focus on the future.

I don’t care if it’s all old news..it’s Adam on TV, talking. I love his interviews!!

I have no idea who that Kerry(?) woman is and I think I’m glad I don’t know.

  46. for what it’s worth, my 21 yr old daughter doesn’t think he’s big enough for this type of show. I told he it’s because he’s fascinating!! lol

Adam specifically said CD — so unless he misspoke it is a CD not digital. Of course, it could be digital for North America and digital in other markets like WWFM and IIHY singles.

But at least I can buy an import CD.

From AfterElton “In the fickle business of show, there is one sure sign that you’ve either hit the big time, or died tragically and unexpectedly: your very own episode of the E True Hollywood Story.” Adam hasn’t died, so I guess he is “big time”.

Seriously, there’s all kinds of people and other things on this series — over 500 episodes. Typically includes scandals, mysteries and Hollywood secrets — or people who used to be famous or be involved with famous people — Beatles’ wives. Here’s a pretty complete list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E!_True_Hollywood_Story

I don’t think Adam has very many secrets at this point. And usually these shows just rehash stuff that has already been around.

Only other Idol is Clay. Done a couple months after he came out.

  49. Well, looks like lots of Adam goodness coming our way just as the tour is ending….YES!!!!!! I can only imagine how many times I will be watching and rewatching this program along with the concert DVD….I will be glued to my monitor!!!

  50. It sounds like must see teevee for me. I don’t think it’s gonna be that scandalous, but I am sure it will be titillating enough for some to have something negative to say, otherwise E will not have don’e it’s job.

  51. arg, the idea of THS bringing up the voting again…
I agree with others that I don’t think fans will learn anything new here – the point is it’s great publicity. And it will be fun to see his friends (my twitter feed!) in interviews. I can’t wait to watch this and I hope E!’s international channels air it immediately!

  52. Only other Idol is Clay. Done a couple months after he came out.

Fantasia had a Behind The Music a couple of months ago, but I am sure that was tied into her VH1 show.

  53. I don’t think Adam has very many secrets at this point. And usually these shows just rehash stuff that has already been around.

Yes, I feel I (we) know just about everything there is to know about Mr. Adam Lambert. However, I never tire of hearing it again and again and again — as long as he is doing the talking! ;)

  54. *delurks*

One more plea for a torrent. Sounds interesting. I’m looking forward to Adam being articulate and diplomatic. “I was exploring my sexuality a lot more aggressively” sounds like a code for “I slept around like whoa”. He should give seminars on speaking in public. :)

  55. If the photo above is from the E THS show, looks like conservative Oprah, Clark Kent hair. I’m all about the hair, of course.

    Gorgeous man. Can’t wait.

  56. He should give seminars on speaking in public.

Or he should be a lawyer.. :-D

  57. Adam looks gorgeous in that photo.

Add me to the list who will record this and watch it back (some day). I know he will do a wonderful job, he almost always does…

  58. (we are the world’s most conservative Christian or Jewish Majority country — less conservative than Saudia Arabia and Malaysia).

    Q3, really???!???

More conservative than Jamaica, Croatia, Rwanda, or Guyana?

That’s cool that he has his own True Hollywood special, but I am already annoyed that the crazy conspiracy theorists are going to be out of the woodwork again if they mention the idol voting.

  59. Oksana2000:

It is Kerry Kolsch, not Kerry Klosch. I can’t stand her, she gives all Adam’s fans bad name.
There is no conspiracy. According to Ryan at final 3 Adam’s and Kris’ votes were only 1 million apart. When Danny was eliminated his votes went to Kris. Simple as that.

Right, I agree with this. And I think Kris had a momentum going into to the finale from Heartbreaker, and even before, which is why he was able to get further than Danny. Maybe some of the people that were voting for Danny had already started voting for Kris the week before, and that is how he got through to the final.

I have heard the conspiracy theorys and I don’t believe they are possible even, because it would have been used for other uses long ago, and not just to win a tv show. The only thing that I believe did occur is the power voting, which I do think affects the outcome, but that has affected other seasons also.

Though I am wondering what reasons they will give, I’m kind of wishing they wouldn’t bring up the voting. I actually think at this point it hurts both Adam and Kris. I am a fan of both of them. I think Adam had more freedom the way things turned out, and they both got contracts, and are both working on their careers.

Only other thing is I’m wondering what more he is going to divulge, if it’s more than he said in RS. LOL, do I want to know?

I’m loving what Randy Jackson said about him, because when I saw that first audition, I said that was one of the best auditions I had seen on the show, he already seemed like a star.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing it, and also kind of think it’s funny that it’s up against the AMAs.

  60. Ahahahahaha!!!! I’m dying here! TMZ just ran a story about Adam in Hawaii. He’s st the beach, wearing the infamous Turquoise shorts, walks into the water leaving his t-shirt on (black) walks around a bit and then walks out. Verdict: He peed!! hahahahaha!! Adam you are so cute and naive. Don’t you know every move is watched? Don’t do ANYTHING but stand there and look gorgeous cuz somebody is watching. I am just sitting here with a big goofy grin on my face. Gotta love him
Sorry MJ, I know this is totally off topic but I got the biggest kick out of it.

  61. Voting stuff? Gah! It needs to die in the same fire as all things AMA.

Anyhew, nice publicity for Adam. And hey, looks like it will be okay, so that works for me.

  62. Wow…I sooo cannot wait for this! He looks great in the pictures! Definitely will be a whole lot better than the AMA’s!!

  63. I can’t wait for this show. Adam is the most fascinating person they ever had on Idol. His story is something his fans from around the world are going to want to see. His mom and dad are two of the people I am most interested in hearing from, because they helped to nurture him both as a person and a talented artist. I imagine both of them are so proud of him and Neil.

Arrgh! The voting scandal of season 8! I thought my wounds were licked and healed over that. LOL! Who am I kidding! And you all had to remind me! But I will be a big girl and not relive old hurts. :) I am excited about the show. More publicity for Adam . But I think after this he needs to be mysterious. Nomore tell all. Well, OK, I do want to know if he is dating his 20 year old dancer or not. Or anyone actually! :P

  65. They will have to talk about the voting. There’s no way of getting around it, since 1) the outcome was indeed the most controversial in Idol history 2) this is Adam’s E-Hollywood story, and the results of Season 8 is part of that.

I never believed there was any fixed voting, etc. Adam has said on record many times that once Danny left, Adam knew he wasn’t going to win. Even Kris has said that he knew that Adam and Danny were always the favorites.

Unfortunately the ugly fan wars that erupted is something I would not want to see resurface as a result of this special. Not interested in hearing the word “Kradam” at all.

  66. Arrgh! The voting scandal of season 8! I thought my wounds were licked and healed over that. LOL! Who am I kidding! And you all had to remind me! But I will be a big girl and not relive old hurts.

I couldn’t have said that better, Jae. :) But looking back, I believe the outcome was just fine for Adam. Being runner-up might have given him a bit more freedom to become the performer he is today. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how the past 17 months have gone for him.

I want to see video of Neil wrestling with Adam in the water!!

Completely agree! I really admire Adam’s parents. They are exceptional themselves. :)

Plus I love this show. I can’t wait to see Adam’s story!

B/i/t/i/n/g my tongue about the voting isssue. It doesn’t matter anymore, but it is part of the story. Hopefully a very tiny part. I want to hear all about Adam!

  68. I don’t know if many people watch E!, but on the surface, it seems like kind of a nice gig, so, good for Adam. He and his family are a pleasure to hear in interviews, so this seems like a good deal

    .

I don’t think I watch a lot of E. But I love E True Hollywood Story. I especially love the rock band stories or stories about actors from when I was a kid. They’re kind of fun.

Tex, I tell myself this on an embarrassingly regular basis! I really do believe it most of the time! LOL! Ok moving on..I am with you! I want to see brothers water wrestling in Hawaii! And dream of someone stealing Adam’s aqua swim trucks and giving them away to goodwill or something. :D

  70. Ah yes the aqua shorts make yet another appearance! Does Adam own another pair of shorts lol?

I really hope that the E! airing doesn’t stir up another rehash of the fan wars about the voting again. Honestly, who even cares anymore? Ancient history.

  71. Hahaha, best comment under the TMZ “peegate” video:

    piscesmaiden44
1 hour ago Nope, Adam didn’t pee, if he had? there would be glitter in the ocean ….:)

The bottom feeders from TMZ spend enough time in the water, they should know this.

I don’t see where it will do any good to rehash any conspiracy theories either. My sister was one of those who wanted “anyone but Adam.” It wasn’t his sexuality either–it was because he was thought to be too good, he shouldn’t have been in the competition. I saw that a lot on the message boards too. His stint as a chorus boy and understudy in Wicked led to comments that he played the lead on Broadway and it wasn’t fair to the other contestants. Anyway, my sister voted for Gokey, not because she preferred his singing, but because he reminded her of Robert Downey Jr. When he was out, she switched to Kris. I voted like a maniac to counter her votes. The busy signals were the biggest frustration–and the explanation for that makes a lot of sense. Not sure if there’s a fix for it though. It is what it is.

It all turned out fine though. Season 8 was a talented group. I hope the show doesn’t spend much time on the controversy.

  73. I don’t have the big aversion to hearing about the voting, but in any case, “examining the speculation around the results” is going to be this, I predict:

E!: a lot of people thought you were sure to win….
Adam: that’s flattering, but I was happy to get as far as I did.
E!: you don’t think the fact you’re gay entered in to it?
Adam: people vote for lots of reasons
E!: there’s some talk of power voting in Arkansas
Adam: supporting the local guy is part of AI. Kris is a great singer and deserved to win. I’m living my dream and have no complaints.

There is no way this discussion is going to hurt either kris or Adam. Casual AI viewers expect idol shows to relive some season highlights, and the result tension is one of the biggest highlights. It won’t seem like it’s done ad nauseum except to those who read/talk idol everyday. It’s like watching a football highlight. The few people involved might wish it would go away, everyone else can enjoy it forever

You make a lot of sense. I hope your prediction is correct!

  75. While am sick about hearing anything to do with the conspiracy every again.I know Adam wouldn’t say anything bad about Kris.Adam is a great guy and him and Kris are good friends.Besides wasn’t that brought up before? And Adam and Kris both said something about it.Adam well probably basically say whatever he said last time. Also I think Adam is doing just find for coming in second and his proving that he didn’t need to win Idol to have a fantastic career.

  76. Q3, really???!???

More conservative than Jamaica, Croatia, Rwanda, or Guyana?

Yes, the US even beats these four countries. Some countries have governments that are more conservative that the people. The US actually has people who are more conservative than the US Constitution. For example, the majority of Americans believe we should have Christian prayer in public schools — even though the 1st Amendment prohibits the making of any law “respecting an establishment of religion”.

According to Pew Research’s Global study. 33% of Americans believe that the Bible is the literal word of God, 63% believe it is the word of God but that some are Gods words are not meant to be taken literally. #1 in the world.

All majority Catholic countries are off the list — the Catholic Church does not take the specific words of the bible literally and accepts scientific advancements that do not violate Catholic dogma. For example, Catholic scholars and many high-ranking clerics reject both literal biblical creationism and intelligent design — and allowed the study of Evolution over 100 years ago. Still an issue in may US states — Tennessee and Texas “lead” in this area. In addition, Catholics tend to hold very liberal views toward income redistribution, racial equality, and even women’s rights. And although the Catholic leadership believes that sex that is not part of procreation is a sin, the vast majority of Catholics reject this view and the majority of Catholics support gay rights.

Crotia is 89% Catholic — but like most European countries majority are non-observant Catholics.

Rwanda is also majority Catholic, they have a civil law based on German, Belgium and traditional cultural systems that is secular.

The other two countries you mentioned have conservative governments but the people are not very conservative.

Jamaica — Very diverse religiously — largest religious groups are charismatic Pentecostal movements that do not take a literalistic approach to Bible interpretation.

Guyana is the most interesting of the 4 countries you mentioned — it is slightly over 50% Christian, but tolerant of many religions — 28% are Hindu, 9% are Muslim (mostly Sunni) according to the US Dept of State. (I think they have overestimated the % Christian. http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/irf/2007/90256.htm) but I could not find a Guyanese census. Guyana government is conservative but the people are not.

Yes, for better and worst, when it comes to Fundamental Christians — we lead the world. :)

webster– I really like your prediction. I think you’re spot on.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the show. I love to hear Adam talk, and I’m looking forward to hearing from his parents and his friends. He has such an fascinating story to tell.

And the TMZ pee-gate story is just hilarious. TMZ is so idiotic.

  78. There is no way this discussion is going to hurt either kris or Adam. Casual AI viewers expect idol shows to relive some season highlights, and the result tension is one of the biggest highlights. ITA I don’t think that THS will hurt Adam or Kris — but they always hype the scandals and they will present this as a scandal.

My guess is that the Idol vote will be a very minor part of the program — and that they focus on the “Adam is gay”, too controversial angle in the Idol voting because that is more salacious — and barely mention Kris. I really doubt we will hear any silliness about 4 guys in Waco rigging the vote, the long call theory or any of the other cray-cray stuff that people have put out there.

Plus, I am certain that Adam’s friends and family will be great. He doesn’t have a lot of ex-es waiting to get back at him like some of the other THS have. Or huge drug issues like Lindsey Lohan — up next on THS.

Fantasia had a Behind The Music a couple of months ago, but I am sure that was tied into her VH1 show.

Behind The Music is on VH1 — and very different than THS — usually much more sympathetic. THS is on E! and that says it all. Thankfully seems like the folks at E! love Adam.

  79. Q3, Guyana and Jamaica both ban homosexual activity between males, and Rwanda recently tried to adopt similar legislation. These are policies supported my many in those countries. Uganda (a majority christian nation) tried to pass a bill making homosexual activity punishable by death. Stats of how Rwanda and Croatia are majority Catholic and Jamaica is majority Pentecostal don’t do anything to prove your argument. You even acknowledged that many Catholics reject different positions by Catholic leadership, so how is a simple statistic of Catholics in Rwanda at all proof they are less conservative than us? Also, having spent time in Jamaica I am just going to have to vehemently disagree with you, I have never witnessed that kind of homophobia or sexism in America, but I don’t want to derail this thread anymore so that is all I have to say.

  80. I’m also looking forward to hearing his parents. His Dad cracked me up on Idol “Sports, not so much.” Also looking forward to hearing from Neil.

It is surprising none of his one-night stands, etc. have said anything to the press. I mean, he’s said Brad was his first relationship, but there were other guys before him. I find it refreshing to see they aren’t coming out of the woodwork.

Adam could teach politicians how to turn a negative into a positive.

  81. I think this is the same night as the AMAs ;) Fortunately, E usually repeats its stuff so it should get some ratings.

It sounds like the usual angle for Adam stories which is to be expected.

  82. I can’t wait to see this special. Great publicity and Adam looks absolutely amazing. Win-win!

  83. Before people on this blog call me crazy or a conspiracy theorist have you ever answered these questions? Why did Adam Lambert, the most gifted, exciting and popular contestant of Season 8 on American Idol lose? Why was Adam’s official fan site at least 5 times more active since day one? Why was Adam more popular on the Idol tour? Why did Adam sell at least four times as many albums? Many people cried foul, not just me, when it was revealed that 38 million votes came from Arkansas and a large chunk of them were from vote parties sponsored by AT&T executive Matt Jordan at the University of Central Arkansas and the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock. Here are some more questions. It only takes 3,000 people voting 10,000 times each to reach 30 million votes, why should that seem impossible to you? (I did it myself this year so I know it can be done.)
How did American Idol allow Kris Allen to have a 30 person marketing team, sell thousands of shirts for his family’s traveling expenses, line up corporate sponsors, give away prizes for votes, and have AT&T on hand to give away promotional phones, lend out phones and teach power texting? Why did AT&T encourage the improper use of Go Phones for three additional hours of voting? Why did the local Fox station turn into a Kris Allen fan site? There was such an unfair advantage created in Arkansas for all of Season 8 that no one else could have won. Never in the history of American Idol had the process been so corrupted. What motivated this state to throw away all standards of fairness? Was it state pride? Homophobia? Or was it the self-serving interest of the businesses and politicians? This should not be allowed to happen again. That is why the flawed voting system needs to be changed.

I can tell you why your theory that Kris got Danny’s votes is wrong. First Adam was more popular than Kris in Danny’s primary vote region. See: http://mashable.com/2009/05/20/american-idol-winner/ In fact Adam was more popular in 49 states.

Second, many of Danny’s fans turned on Kris when they performed the duet together and more turned on him when Allen took Danny’s place in the final. The third reason is that Adam was more popular with over half of the most likely voters form early in the season. By the time Adam sang Track of My Tears it was all over for the rest of the contestants. The reason it was announced that only a million votes separated Adam and Kris is because of a flaw in the voting system. If one contestant has 20 million fans and one has 8 million fans and both contestants have the same amount of phone lines and the same amount of time to vote and if the system can only process 7 million votes for each contestant they will end up with roughly the same amount of votes. That is also what happened with Clay and Rubin when Clay was far more popular. I took the time to research exactly what happened in Arkansas and I am absolutely sure that in a fair vote Adam would have won. Again as season 10 draws near Kris is doing the Idol promos and Adam is still called the runner up; doesn’t it bother any of you that what Adam earned was taken from him? All I ever intended to do was give Adam the knowledge that he did not lose because he is gay. As a lesbian who has gone through many of the same issues as Adam I do not think that Adam or any LGBT youth should falsely believe that Adam lost because of homophobia. It is a shame that so many of Adam’s fans do not give a damn or think this is about Kris. Google my name and Associated Content, I have many articles out there that show that I am neither crazy nor a conspiracy theorist. As an attorney I know how much evidence it takes to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt. Arkansas left the evidence in pictures, film and news articles. If I were in a court of law I know I could prove that Adam would have won without the AT&T assisted Arkansas votes.

  84. By the way a conspiracy does not have names, dates, times pictures, video and news articles to back it up.
