Premiere ratings for ABC’s new singing competition, Boy Band, were bested by comedy repeats on CBS and NBC and FOX game shows. Boy Band, which debuted with a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and an average 2.99 million overall viewers, came in 4th in its time slot
Next week, the show cuts back to 1 hour. The numbers are likely to drop from here.
Thursday night featured four premieres on the broadcast networks. Two of them fared reasonably well, and two were a little bit underwhelming.
The debut of “The Gong Show” on ABC posted a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49, winning its hour by a comfortable margin. “Hollywood Game Night” opened a new season with a 0.8, in line with its most recent handful of episodes last year.
ABC’s “Boy Band” didn’t connect quite as well, drawing a 0.7 for its two-hour premiere.
